But what I mean is, what inspired this board to be set up considering we were already on Zompist?

Re: Why CBB?

The reason I say I've always liked the CBB is exactly what you say; people here are friendly, whereas on Zompist even admins/mods can be rude, trollish cocks. There is a perverse need to cause a ruck over on Zompist.

Why CBB?

I've always liked this board. But I'm curious: why was this board set up given that we have the Zompist board?

Re: Easy to Learn Conlangs?

Yeah, good ideas, RainChild. Not sure why you would want an auxlang-like Artlang, unless you're creating an artlang creole (i.e. a creole within your conworld). Anyway, don't neglect semantics! Something I read -- I think on Rick Harrison's site -- that I think is key, is this: language become diffi...

Nope, I do too. But have you noticed how these packets effectively create their own auxlang? That is, they have a "Scandinavian" text which ever few works has two words separated by a /

Re: Why a global auxlang is impossible and what is possible

Hi Eldin. Yes, my current auxlang is a "world auxlang". I very quickly realised that in order to make it "common" to all languages in the world, the differences between the various groups meant that you would end up only with the most rudimentary of pidgins. As you say and/or allude, the phonology w...

Re: Lojia (future global language)

My dialect calls Pepsi 'pop' (as G-d intended), we'll leave it at that. Pop's, cool! About 15 miles away from me people say "pop" for all fizzy drinks, I think! It's nowhere near to be heard around Montreal and New York... o.O I was under the impression that people speak French in Montreal? Pop? So...

Re: Lojia (future global language)

This one at least is inspired by two non-European, and one non-Indoeuropan, languages. But we haven't really seen much of the grammar yet, and we are still waiting for vocabulary, so it's a bit early to judge. But it's still an auxlang… Plus I have judged, and I'm guessing most people have. I'm no ...

Re: Lojia (future global language)

Hi Lojiya,

I see you've taken the word for "language" from Mandarin... as have I for my current AuxLang... and I thought I was original, too :'( :)

However, apart from that (and taking most words from the top few languages: Eng, Spa, Mand, + Hindustani, etc), our langs have nowt in common. Phew. ;)

I have two AuxLangs. One is Germanic: Tutonisk. Here's a YouTube link of me reading the Lord's prayer in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbt6d4wfBBA I may have some stuff written up somewhere online still, but it's all years out of date. The other doesn't really have a name (or rather, I keep cha...
