Re: The Majestic 4th Conversation Thread

More like you're just from a different flock... Yeah, I'm always in a different flock. That's just me, sorry. Doing something for the purpose of demonstrating that you're not part of the crowd has the in-built irony that you're still basing your decisions on the behaviour of said crowd; you've just...

Thanks, it takes some effort but it's definitely worth it. I think I have an idea for a third trophy now.

Well, it shows I'm not part of the sheeple.

Any idea how to achieve this in a civilized enough manner?

Re: Early modern Swedish

Nyrén also writes that <hv> was still a distinct sound in pairs like hval-val, since this sound was described as something like /hw/, i reckon we can rule out that 18th century Swedish had the modern slightly rounded velar sj-sound, and that the "thin" sj-sound as in Finland swedish or Norweigan wa...

I realized that today is Karl Marx's birthday... And? It was also the 70th birthday of the infamous Swedish criminal Lars-Inge Svartenbrandt. Not for actions they weren't alive to cause... His rotten ideology caused it. With your logic Hitler (yay, Godwin's Law!) isn't to blame since he didn't kill all those people with his own hands. Ideas are dangerous and Karl Marx' ideas were some of the most dangerous and antihuman in history. Blame...
