Re: What did you accomplish today?
Today I messed around with some sound changes. The details will likely change as I actually start working on Proto-Nellian, but it was nice to get a little preview of what's to come. The western branch will evolve into Classical Nellian and it will be the sole member of its branch. It will serve as ...

Spotted this... ooo... probably a few months ago, but I don't think I've uploaded it yet:* *IMAGE* Not the best quality photo, taken quickly in passing on a phone, but IPA used on a tin of curry, and only because it looks "nice" rather than for their proper phonetic values. That's... interesting.

Wow. I'd never heard of that show. At least now we all know where that screenname originated . . . Me neither, I just remember him writing about it quite some time ago. Wow, I just noticed something… according to the "Joined" date and time written under my username and rank banner, I first joined t...

Also, does anyone know if Geoff Standish was really a doctor? His behavior here seems . . . un-doctor-like. I don't know about you, Khemehekis , but most of us don't exactly use our real names around here. LOL, true. But still, "Geoff Standish" sounds like a real person's name Not a Swedish person'...

I've only just glanced at Wendoth, but I like what I've seen so far. I especially enjoyed the attention to historical detail. Oh, and welcome to the board.

Re: Conversation Thread of the 3rd SPAM!
Moar Amjati! I myself started reworking my Norselang yesterday, but it's still just bits and pieces so far. I've barely done any conlanging this summer. I've had more time than ever, but having time to work doesn't really seem to motivate me enough to do anything...

Re: No Voiced Plosives or Fricatives
<z> is used for /θ/ in some dialects of Spanish and, I think, <x> is used for /ʃ/ in several Iberian languages (thus carrying on the Iberian influence seen in <z>). Indeed. My current project has <z> for /θ/. The consonant inventory of said project isn't all that different from this one, actually: ...

Re: Can you determine degree of openness&frontness of my vow
Yeah, it sounds somewhat fronted, which is typical of a lot English I've heard. I only really hear /u/ as when it precedes [ɫ]. So what I'm hearing from you is something like [a ɛ eɪ̯ i ɔ oʊ̯ ə u̟] (disregarding the length).

Re: Sun Speech (Isidriè), and its script (Isidriaghò)
This is starting to sound like an echo chamber but that's one hell of a script you've got there. You obviously put a lot of work into the design process. The drawings in your album were nice as well - hopefully we'll see more of those if you decide to share something on the culture and whatnot. Also...

Even the oldies are new to me... I am ancient.
In unrelated news, I am thinking about reviving my North Germanic conlang. We'll see how I feel in the morning, but seeing as I will be spending most of tomorrow night in a drunken haze I doubt anything will happen.

Go for it! I'd love to see some stuff on Ainu, even if I won't be doing much in the way of learning the actual language.

I generally describe my realization as [x(ʷ)], slightly weaker in friction than the German ach-laut. Anyway, there's always this thread for further discussion the subject.
