Re: Today I learned ...

But it appears that on Géarthtörs, peshmelbs is almost a state of mind. At its essence, it's an ice cream flavor, with tiers of ice cream flavor ((maybe) artificial) peach-vanilla-raspberry, like harlequin, or some sort of mélange of flavored ice cream with chunks of peach and raspberries therein. ...

Re: What's your favorite word or phrase in your conlang (sound-wise)?

Another fave sound is [ɒ], which I have forever transcribed as [ɔ]. Though I guess they're distinct sounds, I, as a native English speaker, have often confused them and carried this confusion over into Géarthnuns. I shan't worry about this, as such confusion seems to be cross-linguistically rather c...

To add to the Russian one. :idn: suka means like. Well then, :idn: suka, :jpn: 好き suki "like" Those would be false cognates, wouldn’t they? Sure. I left it here because :idn: suka first appeared here , and I was too lazy to seek out the "false cognate" thread. Since you were concerned, I sought out...

I believe it would be read [ˈɛʃteˌlɛget], and I don't know if it's an actual word in Hungarian, but who cares? It's a great word both in Lihmelinyan and Hunga...

Re: What have you been reading lately?

I expect to need to put on my wading boots to make my way through the propagandist muck, but without reading the original, how can you know? I did read it in the original. Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest otherwise. By "you" I didn't mean you , but "one". I should have written, "How can one know?", ...
