Sounds like a clever system. If I'm understanding this correctly in that each ABC set is a root, then you have 1000 roots, not 100.
It is 10x10x10 = 100.
Hmm, maths isn’t your forte, is it?

Try running that through a calculator. [;)]

Re: What did you accomplish today?

Do you ever get that stupidest of all conlanging feelings where you have some creeping suspicion that your language cannot possibly have enough different-sounding words to be functional? I know it’s utter nonsense but I get that feeling anyway and therefore I’m glad to say that I’ve managed to rid ...

Re: The Quintessential 5th Conversation Thread

Whoa, I'm finally getting notifications again for this site! But what's up with the new layout? This'll take some time to get used to. Anyway, school's been keeping me away from conlanging for a while now, and it probably still will be for the next month. Hope you've all been well. Welcome back, sh...

Re: Soo ta Aangii

I like the look of Soo ta Aangii, but then I’m probably too easily drawn to lots of long vowels.

I must admit the repeated reduplication of mijaa → mijajaa → mijajaamijajaa gives me a (very) slight headache though. [:P]

Even the unreadable forms? A god! We're all gonna die [:P] Yeah, I only find the second last line illegible. Everything else seems pretty normal to me. Apart from that line in the middle (which I'm guessing is some kind of shorthand?), I agree: it's fairly legible. Not neat by any stretch, but at l...

Re: What did you accomplish today?

Today I realised that I do want a glottal stop in Limestone. And I’ve no idea why I didn’t want one before. Except I do actually: one of my noob peeves used to be glottal stops in coda before other stops. Ah, the idiocy of youth!

And now for something completely different!

On of the perks of being at Cambridge is that I'm now able to access loads of great linguistics books online for free, including Aikhenvald's grammar of Tariana (yay! [:D])
Can we be bffs now?

Any sign of Park’s Pawnee Grammar?

Today I realised that Proto-Plains *q *qw probably weren’t uvular. They may have been pharyngeal ... Yay Híí diachronics! (I think for convenience sake though you're better off continuing with the <q> romanisation). That is indeed my intention, especially as the realisations will be left decidedly ...

Re: Introducing Qutrussan

The Updated Passive I have decided to change the passive because I wasn’t really happy with the first attempt. It left too many –aya-sequences, producing ugly things like ‘ayadayáqsaḥ’. I actually think ayadayáqsaḥ is rather delicious, although you must follow your own taste, of course. An idea: if...

Just some ideas I like the idea with the two suns. Although I don't really work on that conworld anymore, I gu...
