Re: Batħaso - The Orkish language

Questions and pseudo questions There are two types of asking for information in Batħaso. The first one is asking a grammatical question, which is done by raising the pitch of the sentence-final word and/or usage of question words like sħebt (where), post (when), drb (what) and others. Re: What other Languages, feature the term love this way?

According to Wiktionary, Mandarin has a plain term for love 愛 ài, and one for romantic/sexual love 愛情 àiqíng, literally "Love-Passion". Farsi differentiates between 'ešq "Romantic/Sexual love" and mehr "Love" (which is apparently from "Mithras") Yiddish also makes a distinction between /ahava/ "Div...

Re: Getting rid of the sg/pl distinction in personal pronouns

I think the most natural way would be adverbs that indicate the plurality if necessary. Note that those are not suffixes if they can appear somewhere else in the sentence. So: "I be at shop inside buy food" -> "I'm in the shop to buy food."/"We're in the shop to buy food." (Ambiguous) "I be at shop ...

lsd are you just going to make a new thread for each image now that your picture thread has been locked? Cause if so I don't think the rest of the community would want this. Also why do you alwys end sentences with an ellipsis? It doesn't add anything and just makes you look silly if I'm honest. It...

I must be weird then, because I tend to like anomalies; I find them fascinating. I'm always disappointed when I find out that some "pre-IE" root in Greek or Latin might actually just be an odd outcome of an IE root. (I was even disappointed when the "Koreanic" family came about and no longer was Ko...

I did a preliminary family tree for the Northern Languages family in my Conworld. Sorry for not using a spoiler but they don't work for me (yet).

Re: Wacky theory on Basque.

Although I totally agree on your general statement - Basque and Etruscan are not related - I find it really dubious to try and prove that with a seemingly random list of words. With the same method, one could try to prove that German and English are not related: No, one could not. I went through you...

In Ular, it's relatively common to adapt foreign logos and add to them their Ular reading, mostly because most Ularians don't speak English (they learn Mandarin Chinese as first language, and Cantonese or Japanese as second language). Note that the characters 革歌革朋 should not be read as in Chinese (g...

sorry for double post, but English roam is not related to Romani rom “man”, although the connotation of Romani people in Europe can make the two words seemingly connected.
That propably means that it's not related to roman either, as I had always assumed. TIL!
