Re: Inner Bruise -- a science-fiction collabfic

As a bit of a continuation of the last point, this project was started in 2003, about 12-13 years before this thread was started, and 14-15 years before now (if my math is correct). That's super intimidating. I know the Wiki says something about "being welcoming to newcomers", but that doesn't chan...

Re: Inner Bruise -- a science-fiction collabfic

* Also, teen-fantasy SF really isn't my thing. The whole society revolves around "liberated" teens, free from the control of their monstrous & evil parents thing, yeah, that's pretty silly and unrealistic. Admittedly, I would have eaten that up when I was 16! For about twenty minutes, because, well...

Re: Inner Bruise -- a science-fiction collabfic

It's been over a year and no one from this site has joined this project. So I'd like to ask all of you why. Is there some reason you haven't been interested in, or have actively been turned off from, participating in the Inner Bruise collaboration wiki? I can't figure out what it is. * I'll echo sh...

Re: The Quintessential 5th Conversation Thread

And today is Ash Wednesday, and what's more the first time I have had an imposition of ashes on my forehead. Now to see if it'll stay there all day (probably). It's okay if they wear off, I'm sure! Anyway, it's what's going on inside that counts. There must be a story as to why this is your first t...

Re: why is it that in many fantasy stories, humans are the focus?

but for any of you fantasy writers and world builders, why do humans exist in your setting? is it because their easier to write or is there so much that you could do with them? In The World, there are human analogues (Men), but they are not quite human. They are Yeola's equivalent race, and behavio...

Nice! Interesting choice of Jeckyll & Hyde - - a personal favorite, or was there some other connexion to that work?
I just assumed that it was one of the easier books to read/translate, so I chose it.
All the same, very impressive on your part!

^I ended up enjoying Season 2 more than the 1st. [:)] What I'm listening to: This Welsh song, "Dacw Nghariad". I don't think I realized just how beautiful Welsh was until now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nrkgdj0bVAo Welsh is lovely indeed! Tonight, other side of the world: :yout: https://www.yo...

Re: What did you accomplish today?

With a new book and the updated list on frathwiki , the griuskant conlang now has a total publication of 5 books: 1 textbook, 2 translated literature sources and 2 beginner storybooks. Nice! Interesting choice of Jeckyll & Hyde - - a personal favorite, or was there some other connexion to that work...

Re: The Quintessential 5th Conversation Thread

I don't know where to put this. It's spoilery about Marvel Infinity War . I'm psyched b/c Thor may be getting a replacement weapon with deep deep PIE roots Seems Thor may be getting Jarnbjorn , an enchanted axe of Dwarven artifice. The PIE connexion comes from the doppelgänger of Thor in Slavic & B...

Presumably OP is referring to the CONLANG-L mailing list, the largest and most notable mailing list associated with the English conlanging community.
Very likely. Since she mentioned Toki Pona so much, I didn't want to assume in case there was some T.P. mailing list being referred to.

@ Lambu & Shimo : Wait... where are you two from? Also, after more than a week of Spring-like weather, the last few days or so have been frigid and today we got a bit of a blizzard going on. Was it worth posting here? What's the percentage of overlap here with the mailing list? So, what did this actually mean? For preference, in English? Perhaps an actual introduction along with actual explanation would be nice. Also: what mailing list are you referring to? CBB isn't affiliated with an...

For once in my life, I actually can't wait for winter to be over. I for one cannot wait for winter to actually begin . All the snows we've had (prolly same as urs, Shimo) were mere flurries. Re: "She's a ten!"

Off the top of my head, I can say that Daine don't think that way, and would not use a simple 1-10 numeric scale. There are not enough deictic axes to really express anything useful. Now, I think they really would appreciate the colour-scheme method. (Well, girls would, because, that's how girls ar...
