Re: Do you add sounds to your conlang you can't pronounce?

Thanks for the quick answer [:)] The thing with practicing is, that I never know if I'm doing it "right". There are discriptions about how to pronounce a pharyngeal fricative or an uvular stop or an ejective etc. but they're often not very helpful to me... Also, I guess there's no human being that c...

Do you add sounds to your conlang you can't pronounce?

Do you add sounds or phonemes to your conlang that you cannot pronounce? Because I really have troubles with pronouncing some epiglottal, pharyngeal and glottal sounds; not to mention non-pulnomic sounds. Also, I struggle to pronounce some uvular sounds, and a lot of approximants I'm not familiar wi...

Sutatorri anru ra. Three words. to take (stem) sexual love NOM in past Eight words!?!?!?!? If I were to look at your gloss, I might think that "sutatorri" means "to" and "anru" means take and then get very confused by the rest. One word in the language should be one word in the gloss. Re: Ukiku (Introduction)

Updates I made some updates in the phoneme inventories. Please note that allophones are written in brackets (): http://imgur.com/gzLHJsN I added some allophones and changed the uvular fricative [ʁ] into an alveolar flap [ɾ]. I also replaced [v] with [β]. The new allophones are [ç] and [ʝ] which are...

Re: "Give" problems

Ukiku doesn't do anything with the verb itself but with pronouns because it always tries to avoid 2nd and 3rd person if they are the object (if they are subject, it works as suffix added to the verb). It usually replaces the object pronoun for "you" (Sg&Pl) with a title while there are added titles ...

Re: Distinctions and mergers in your conlang

Ukiku has not any voices so it usually uses the causative to create passive-like constructions. Here is an example: dárende "to die": darénvu "he/she dies" (intransitive verb) The causative is expressed by turning one of the lexem's monophtong (usually the one which contains a high pitch accent) int...

do you have a program like notepad, that uses monospace fonts by default? if so, build your tables in that program (avoids tabs as well) and then copy it to here. I haven't. Re: How is your nick pronounced?

I pronounce it like Italian/my conlang Romanz Buonavallese* [runoˈmɔːzo] because it just looks like a word from a Romance language. *= If it's meant to be Buonavallese, then it's the accusative singular. The nominative singular would end in <-u>. I didn't think about this but now as you say it, it ...
