Also, as this is my first conscript, criticism would be highly appreciated! It's probably not very good or original, but if there is anything I can improve, let me know! Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Don't laugh. In griuskant, these "tion-tion" suffix constructions are grammatically acceptable and encouraged enough to not be awkward, though unusual. In fact, I can even think of 1 particular griuskant word on top of my head now which goes as far as "tion-tion-tion", and even that seems totally f...

Re: Linguistic pet peeves

Trigger language linguistic terminologies are weird and confusing, especially since most of them contradict with common sense/intuition/terms. First, trigger languages could be defined differently based on your source; some are even wildly defined as "focus"/context languages. Hence, some languages ...

Re: Calendars (for Earth and for conworlds)

There are many calendar systems in the conworld that is associated with griuskant, as there are regions that naturally have no seasons, 2, 4, 5, 8, or even 10 seasons etc In one particular country, the native griuskanters divide a year into 4 seasons, with 90 days each (though of course, there are o...

Re: (C&C) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

A newbie question, but still: if my language is generally VSO, and has postpositions, would it be classed as a head-initial language? Head-directionality depends on many parameters. Ultimately, you decide the head-directionality based on which parameter(s) is/are more dominant in your conlang. In m...

I once tried the website which sorted me into Slytherin...which is the exact opposite of what I thought I would be: Hufflepuff.

Meh, I still consider myself to be with Hufflepuff regardless of what that website said though. *a la Divergence*

Based on a few posts I saw recently in another thread, I've been wondering something. How many of you aim to be able to pronounce your languages?
I can already speak griuskant and pronounce all words with an authentic accent.

Now to practise it from sometimes sounding like English in a sentence.

A name is initially given by the parent(s) in the family, but it can be kept as an official name, or discarded upon selecting a name for oneself while still keeping the given name amongst family usage. Griuskant names usually don't mean anything, and are actually encouraged to have no meaning as to ...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Do you like to be able to pronounce your conlangs more or less accurately and fluidly? I am asking because I have always tended to only make languages which I can pronounce easily. I am trying to step out of my comfort zone a bit, but I find it frustrating when the language is difficult to pronounc...
