Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I doubt that most con-peoples would get that meta about a name that to them isn't really thought about too much at this point. Unless, of course, your conpeople are relatively modern. (Which I have no idea if they are.) Define meta. Define thought. Define modern. Otherwise, I'm not sure I can provi...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

How does everyone come up with names for languages (and especially proto languages or language families)? Do you have detailed etymologies for the name, or is it just based on what sounds nice? I want to come up with a name for a small branch of languages, but as Qutrussan is the dominant language,...

What if the number is
n 10^1000...
Same thing as English, because the above number has no other "unimportant" digits, n is already followed with the biggest place value.

Therefore in griuskant with 3 words: n 10^ 1000.

Re: Imperative Mood - Lortho

You could use a periphrastic construction for those, like English (“let's”) I have thought about that, but I wanted to keep it within the agglutinative/affix arena My griuskant conlang is agglutinative, and all I did was pronoun + verb+imperativesuffix; so it works for all person/number, because al...

Re: It's Time To Change It All...

Griuskant numbers use base 10, and the language prefers scientific notation to express greater numbers. Is there a special way to that scientific notation... What I meant was, for example, to say 5678, instead of doing this like in English: five thousand six hundred seven ty eight Griuskant prefers...

Re: It's Time To Change It All...

Griuskant numbers use base 10, and the language prefers scientific notation to express greater numbers. The native griuskant language divides a day into 20 hours starting from dawn, and divides the year into seasons (months and weeks don't exist!). As for exactly how they are defined upon a standard...

Re: Proper Name, Story of a life...

Griuskant names usually don't mean anything, and are actually encouraged to have no meaning as to easily identify them as proper nouns/names in a sentence.

Re: RIP cursive handwriting..

I can write normal alphabets quicker than writing cursive. Thus, I never use cursive as I think cursive is inefficient imo.

Moreover, the griuskant conscript uses only straight lines and has no curves, so cursive is essentially not allowed.
