Re: Wacky theory on Basque.

Okay...cool. I never implied a direct link, though. You asked about Basque evolving from Etruscan; that certainly implies a direct link. Not sure how a language could evolve from another language without there being a direct link! (perhaps we're not using the same definitions of "evolve" and "direc...

Re: I love you

A lot of people post natlang translations, actually! Or they post in a variety of conlangs rather than just one. So it's not as straightforward as it might initially appear.

(I've never actually made boiled eggs, though, only variations on scrambled. Perhaps I should give elemtilas' recipe a shot.)

Re: The Conculture/Conpeople Opinions Thread

What do typical members of one of your concultures 1 think typical members of that (or another one of your) conculture 2 think of deciding never to remarry after one's first marriage ends (whether in death or in divorce)? And are they right or wrong? (In other words, do typical members of the topic...

Re: Government

How their government works is an executor announces a policy goal , for example "increase the output of our solar panel network by 10% in the next 5 years." What happens if the executor's policy goal is unreasonable? Is there anybody who is able to take the executors aside and quietly tell them the...

:yout: Magnetic Telephone , by Alestorm Listening to everything Alestorm's ever created was an excellent decision on my part. This song is... well, I kind of don't want to spoil it, so I'll hide the explanation. It's a mashup of Alestorm's "Magnetic North" and Lady Gaga's "Telephone". Except it isn'...

if anyone's not familiar with the term, "urban fantasy" is the usual term these days for fantasy that takes place in the modern world. ... "Urban" seems more to be used as if a code-word for "nearly all the main characters are African-American". IOW it doesn't mean what it seems to say it means. In...
