Hey. So. Can we...
Can we talk about this?
This thing?
That happened?
That... yeah...

You can talk about it only when :esp: SyFy show the new series... like in a year or two.

Otherwise this will become a huge spoiler thread! [:'(]

Okay. Okay. I can wait. I'll just... sit here... and whimper a little... in happiness... yes.

Breaking out HyPry to celebrate and to keep my spoilers unspoilery:
Mhu Nol c Ægìælıfrè!

I think it was okay. Not the best episode, but not the worst either. And I liked Hurt's doctor:D

I found the resolution of the B plot... rather peculiar.
Spoiler:
I don't think that one of the two factions about to be responsible for the destruction of London had any rights or entitlements to make a treaty about. 'Fairness' requires acknowledging that one side was in the wrong. Once that's done, the side in the right can decide what offers, if any, to make to the others. But there's nothing to negotiate about, before then.

I suppose they (the writers) were taking were taking the tropes of "highly powerful weapon about to be deployed" and "ticking clock counting down"...along with the one of "neither side will budge in their demands"

...but wanted to avoid having either side kicked to the curb or anything. (that and to show the Doctor not taking sides, but making others avoid bloodshed in a way that - previously - he hadn't been able to achieve in his own Time War history)
that's a guess; i may be wrong.

Hoorah! I just found Dr. Who, and it's the series I didn't see last year! Caught up on the fourth one (Doctor saves the world from the Shakri cubes) Just have to finish this series, then I get to see the next one next year and... oh, phooey! It's not on, I'm gonna get the DVD, both series. I've had enough waiting. [}:(]

Spoiler:
I thought we already knew that Gallifrey wasn't destroyed by the Doctor? Gallifrey seemed very much alive when their leaders used that magic crystal thingy to tie onto the Master and pull themselves into Earth's airspace in the episodes just before the Eleventh Doctor episodes (though I wouldn't blame them if they were trying to retcon it).

I like the Doctor played by David Tennant.
It amazes me how a live-action show can run for 50 years, but the way they get new character would be a reason why.
Show gets boring? Kill off the Doctor and everyone else! Then get a new cast and plot.

And my favourite antagonists are the Daleks and those invisible piranha things.

Regarding "The End of Time":
Spoiler:
That episode deals with the Gallifreyans on their penultimate day, after they've been timelocked and the Doctor has stolen the Moment but before he activated it. It doesn't actually contradict anything we've seen, although now we know that the average Gallifreyan wasn't as omnicially crazy as the parliment and senior leadership had become.

Speculation: the creature from "The Satan Pit" that said it came from 'before time' was the remnant of a previous incarnation of the universe in which its most powerful civilization actually chose the Final Sanction and destroyed everything else... not realizing that the universe would be reborn, trapping them. Time is repeating itself broadly; the details change but the larger pattern recurs.

Just thought I'd share. I got a bloc of David Tennant episodes for my son's impending birthday. He's showed interest, and I must foment it. Plus, out of the new ones, I think David Tennant's regeneration is growing on me the best.

Plus, friggin Cybermen!!!!!!!!

PS: After seeing Sylvester McCoy in the Hobbit flick, IMHO he ought to be on DW somehow or someway againe!

And the Golden Gnome Ruler Award for "Best Sexy Fun Dancing by an Extraterrestrial with extreme Megalomaniacal Tendancies" goes to the Empress of the Racross.

Indeed. The forgiven Prodigal searching the galaxies he thought he knew, for his long-lost home. I think I am coming to terms with it.
Spoiler:
Being a fanboy of aulde lange syne, I initially felt the whole "We shall award the Doctor with a whole new set of regenerations, PLUS what's behind door #2...FTW?!
Well, I understand. BBC is like OMG superclaifragilistic-expialidocious ratings like never before-What 2 do? Extend-Renew-Extend-Renew. I get it, I get it. Plz do a '2 Doctors' with #8 (Paul McGann) and the newer one, por favor. Will the Rani ever return? She was like the Catwoman to Doc's Batman, the Matahari to Doc's Sherlock, just as the Master was Moriarty to Doc's Holmes. She could tempt the Doctor to try to dissuade him from finding Gallifrey, because she feels that with the Doctor as the only Time-Lord around, she'd be free to do her crazy mad-scientific nycteridian-guano unchecked.
PS: Loved the spoof with #5,6,7 (& sort of 8).

PPS: BBC needs to discover kiwikami's HyPry and cough up some mondo fanboy loot to use it in the newest series.

PPPS: Hey BBC! [->] Mhu Nol c Ægìælıfrè!
= DW version of "Frodo lives!"

Now, to summon the Tardistoaster from her 1,000 year slumber (okay, okay, 1,000 year servitude making puppets'n'such. Now, where'd I put my Culphecc Glyww for Dummies...

I had a dream last night that I was watching the new Doctor Who. It was a new episode involving the Vogons Zygons.
Peter Capaldi was the Doctor, but he was dressed differently - the exact same wardrobe as Peter Cushing's doctor (!) Now that would be a crossover!

Even if they did a split-screen, with Capaldi playing his own role, and also Cushing's version of the Doctor~!

Just a fanboy dream...

PS:

Paul McGann needs to make a joint-appearance, por favor!
