What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

Right or wrong, when done convincingly.

On the other hand,

have been looking for examples of Greek Pitch Accent.
The 'melodic' version, as William Sidney Allen called it.
None pass muster, sorry to say.
[D;]

Amidst the hirquitallient bathos and self-important emoting and aleatoric hexametres, Stephen G. Daitz's nekros (YEP 2014 BPUH) is whirling like a dervish for sure.
[:(]

…or mebbe gyrating & frenzying like a Mænad or a Eumenid (?)

Uff!
Have I become a :grc: Pitch-Accent Natzy‽
[o.O]
Quite possibly so.

I apologize for my kvetching in advance to those who think this sort of thing is "cool"
but

I do not believe this is a nascent isogloss. Solecism, more like.

More natzying, I suppose.

I have yet to find a good example of Greek pitch-accent either. Interesting how we can't seem to replicate it. But that's why I like this guy's PIE readings; they sound like they could be authentic.

Don't get me started on all those videos of people speaking Latin with a Gradschoolese accent. [:|]

Hold yer horses! The Ancient Greeks certainly could. And, depending on the theory behind it, I have heard some good practitioners of it in and out of la Fac & Grad School.

In my pronuncation, I try very hard to follow the suggestions of Daitz right or wrong. When I read poetry, it comes out rather 'chanty', but fun.

I will have to learn more about uploading to this Youtube, as you call it.

I give props for the effort.

IMHO PIE would sound closer to something between Sanskrit and Lithuanian. Still, it's so weird to imagine travelling back to those times and sneak a listen to folks just yikkyakking in PIE.
What an ineffable treat that would be. Or to be able to globetrot to the Korean Peninsula and hear what they'd be uttering yonderin. Or to Japan?
