(EE) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

Is there a rule on this board about double posting (i.e. posting twice in a row in the same thread with no other posts in between)? Another forum I'm a member of doesn't allow it unless there's a reason to, but I was wondering if that's the case here. I don't see anything about it in the rules thread, so I'm guessing it's OK?

Would someone who invents new kinds of art for concultures be called a conartist?

Yeah, I think i've even saw that used, in this exact context.

If not, it should be.

There's no rule against it; try to do, case-by-case, what you think will be most polite in each case.
If I catch myself posting both of the two most recent posts on a thread, I try to edit the second post into the first one, and then delete the second one.*
I'm pretty sure some others also usually do that, but probably not everyone.
I don't think it comes up often enough for me to get a firm idea of anyone else's habits.

How do these usergroups work? I should qualify for at least a few of them, but I only have one. I'll probably keep this one anyway though because I like the green image.

Good question! I have sometimes wondered what they are all about. I had a look under "User Control Panel" and there's almost twenty different groups. I don't know how one qualifies for them or how it works. Looking at the requirements in "User Groups", I think I could easily qualify for five and maybe shape up for seven of them. Perhaps there's an application form somewhere?

I haven't seen any kinds of announcements or anything. Maybe they don't do these things anymore?

As i understand it you are supposed to ask some mod to bestow the rank upon you, after which you'll be able to choose it in the User Control Panel. I don't actually know for sure, never having tried.

Here's a post about the ranks: http://cbb.aveneca.com/viewtopic.php?p=62379#p62379

I believe Ossicone is the main mod to contact about assigning ranks.

This is correct.
I'm happy to accept pm's for rank requests. Just be aware it could take time.

How do you make tables? I've had it explained to me before, but I can't remember how to do it. I also can't find where it's been explained to me.

Yes, I do mean tables on this forum, not pieces of furniture! [xD] I didn't realize I forgot to specify that; thanks for pointing it out.

sorry, I don't know either...maybe you can type the contents in Excel or OpenOffice calc, then upload it as an image, then post the image here?

maybe I should just not try to help if I don't know...

That's good advice, but I'm not good enough with computers to know how to make the contents of Excel or a similar program into an image, let alone one suitable to be posted here. Thank you, though!

simply make a screenshot of them, then crop the part you want and make it an image. (:

you can take a screenshot by pressing the "prt sc sysrq" button, then you can open a new file in MSpaint and past the screenshot on it, then start editing on it (:
