Looking at my shelf of graphic novels / manga, what stands out to me:

Bone (Jeff Smith) - I'd classify it as fantasy-adventure

Maus (Art Spiegelman) - Depressing, about World War II, but soooo good. Not quite in what you were asking for, but good enough for me to recommend it anyway

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (Hayao Miyazaki) - Fantasy/sci-fi adventure, and so much better than the movie (even though the movie's also good). Despite being technically sci-fi, the technology is much less a part of the plot than the characters doing stuff, in my opinion. I read it far more like a fantasy than a sci-fi, even though it is the latter, strictly speaking (and, to be fair, is ultimately something that drives the plot)
My son & I [<3] [<3] Bone. YES!!!

Maus - I agree! defs depressing, but good. Sort of like Mickey Mouse and Felix the Cat meet the movie Train de la Vie. But not. Unforgettable images & imagery.

I need help for this assignment because I'm supposed to make up a game and then analyze how it contributes to cognitive development.
The particular game my partner and i came up with is similar to the card game Town of Salem.

This:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bl ... -card-game
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/191 ... -card-game

But we're making up a game similar to this, so it'd be a bit different. It would seem we're trying to the abuse with the premise/function of this kind of "game": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liar_Game

Ok, so I basically made my game for my project, but my issue is analyzing how it contributes to development as well as staving off threats to it.

Staving off threats? Huh?

Also, in order to help you, I'd need to know more about what specifically you're studying. I can give you broad strokes, but it won't be tailored toward the method that is being taught or specific course objectives like your professor likely wants. At the end of the day, I think you'd be better off seeking help from your partner on the project or asking for clarification from the professor about what is expected.

I just don't want to lead you in the wrong direction.

The game is rather functionally equivalent to Town of Salem but instead of villagers and witches, it's business people and con artists. Also people start with a specific amount of money and have to win by having the most while finding out/avoiding being conned by the con artist. There is the moderator though who acts much like a Dungeon master, overseeing what happens and going through all roles so that they do their actions and everyone has to have their eyes closed while it happens.

I have to answer particular questions like these:

How does your game promote cognitive development? Use specific examples from the game, course content, and research to justify your reasoning. You should include how your game enhances the following:
• Cognitive development/learning (numeration, skills, critical/abstract thinking, memory, information processing, attention span)
• Intelligences - fluid vs crystallized intelligences used in the game + the impact, emotional, mechanical, etc
• Language development (areas of the brain involved and how, verbal vs. non-verbal language development)
• How does you game address cognitive needs like ADHD or Alzheimer’s? (See list in Cognition 1 note for more, class presentations)

Ah, don't worry about it.
I only got 78 in my English course which is good enough I suppose but it will made it very difficult for me get an average of 85.

Absolutely no degree in Psych. [:$]

But, from an M.Ed. point of view, the combo of Cognitive Development + Game Theory shouts Lev Vygotsky. [:)]

Were you assigned any readings by him?

Winter?! It’s going to be 73 and sunny here today. Of course I actually find that a bit depressing because we need rain badly [:(]
