I've been collaborating with Dewrad, the creator of Dravian: probably the best naturalistic romance language ever made (well, to me at least) and very similar to my own project, which takes place in the same region.

While the last time we chatted he told me he hadn't much time to get back to me due to new government work, he managed to respond to my last email on May 28th. Since then I've tried emailing him 5 or 6 different times, all with no response. This is disappointing as he was the only person I knew who had a fairly good authority on the romance languages of the northwest Balkan region.

I hope nothing bad happened to him...

I'm stunned, and generally said, I'm fearful.
Of what?
You can tell the same lie a thousand times,
But it never gets any more true,
So close your eyes once more and once more believe
That they all still believe in you.
Just one time.

Gosh, I haven't heard from Dan in ages and ages.

Maybe a bout of real-life-itis? I hope he's doing well also!

He's probably just busy. Or bored of the subject. If you want to push your luck, have you tried asking about him on isharia?

...isharia?

Anyway I'll send another email in a month or so. He said he got an influx of 900+ emails within a short period of time so I reckon it's being buried under them.

Possibly pointing to a ZBB-related chat channel in which Dewrad had some mildly interesting history,

Other iterations of isharia lead to the country of wild geese.

Quite possibly!

Ha!

Life imitates art: it's by now a very old joke that a glossopoet is gay, bearded, left-handed and Lithuanian.

I don't have a cat. I grew up in a household in which my mother was allergic to both dog fur and cat fur, so we didn't have any pets of the order Carnivora. Instead we kept rodent pets . . . guinea pigs, mice, hamsters.

Now my sister and her brother-in-law have a dog, Poppin. Poppin barked when he first met me . . . very circumspect around strangers.

It's a mockingly defensive way of saying a general description fits you specifically, with such accuracy that you feel violated. YMMV; it took me awhile to come up with that definition.
