The Avatar Creation and (Re-)Design Thread

What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

Thrice - if you find some inspiration from this idea, I would be over the moon (or over two suns ;) ).
Hmmmm, I'm not that great at actual art... Could you maybe find a few images with sun(s) that you like and I can see what I can do.

I particlularly like this one:

You'd have to cut out a part of the image so the plane isn't visible, though (WoTS is a fantasy world).

This could be an alternative in a different style:

Des: I thought you'd want me to choose the neon sign. I'm no fun, I know. :)

That second link isn't working...

Hmmmm... I have some thoughts.

No border, rounded corners (subtle difference to the previous one)

I changed the "second" sun to be a more faithful copy of the first one. Sorry if the image quality isn't good... it was too big of a file to use as an avie on this site so I switched to web colors which drops the size but also screws with the colors.

I have a new Avatar, just as a temporary solution. What do you think? Also, does anyone remember my old avatar. I really liked it, but it seems its gone.

I'm a fan. My only suggestion would be for his lower body to fade out.

Also, now that you mention it, I don't remember your old avatar.

Thanks Thrice!

I'll try one of these for size. They are a little pixelated but it's a forum limitation, right?

Somewhat. You are limited to like a 20kb image file. If you know a better way to drop file size, I'm open to it and I can try on the unaltered images, which I think I still have.

Huh. I was able to upload a PNG for my avatar. I just made it at the size it was needed, exported as a PNG, and it just did its thing - no complaining about file sizes.

There is a limit listed. It just so happens that your current avatar is well below the size limit at 5kb.

Does anyone have some ideas for a Solresol or Laadan avatar?

If you feel like a hidden message, Solresol can be represented with colors, so you could come up with some word or phrase and make a color representation of that your avatar.

I just wanted to come back here and say a big thank you to Thrice. I really like my avatar, and I would never have bothered to create one if it weren't for you. You rock!
