The Avatar Creation and (Re-)Design Thread

What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

Actually don't bother with that, I can crop it myself, thank you so much, I now have a Frislandian flag this is so helpful!
Edit: EDIT: Do you have a .jpg version? Just the CBB doesn't seem to like PNGs for avatars.

I can make one. Also there's is sometimes an issue with file size. I will slap one together quick and post it when I get home.

Avatar size with border and rounded corners to match the group banner:

Huh, weird how the board seems OK with that last PNG but not any of the ones I tried previously.

And thank you so much for the JPG you're the best for this Thrice!

Hawee lad, I feel like a proper member now!

I wonder whether I want to use it for the ZBB as well but I already have one there and I kinda feel attached to it.

If Thrice has the time...

I'd noticed quite a while back that some folks changed their avatars from time to time, and thought the

Image

could do with a refresher.

Back then, when the ranking dimensions were different, I found some Australian free site that allowed you to size things and managed to figure out on my own how to even them out (though, admittedly, not a priority for me). Then the rankings changed format, and I just techno-spazzed out, and not really caring besides. Plus I couldn't find anything new that really tickled my fancy.

At the moment, I'm rather taken with the tone, timbre, and vibe of this:

Image

But then, maybe a shiny sourball version of the Géarthtörs flag, which Thrice himself refurbed, ( Image ) would be a welcome change of pace?

What do you think? (I feel like one's Gran at M. Henri's salon fretting about a new hairstyle [B)] )

Oh... and I also came up with a little something while messing around for OTHEB:

It isn't quite perfect, but I think it came out pretty okay. I still have a version saved with layers, so if you see this, let me know if you want some of the colors tweaked. Right now, there are 8 visible squares of each of the colors in your current avatar.

That looks really cool, but this thread got me in a creative mood too and I tried putting another icon of mine to the test.

So now I'm at a weird conundrum as I'm not sure which picture to go with...

Feel free to use whatever you like. I just had the idea and decided to make it. Also, is that symbol related to the symbol for atheism? It looks similar.

Also, the widest avatar can be 138px so it looks like that symbol will be somewhat off-center.

Did not realise that... It's a stylised combination of my initials. Other versions of the design used a 45 degree rotated square rather than a circle, so I might use that instead. Any relation to the atheism symbol is completely unintentional, but I don't really have a problem with that considering I do fit into that category anyway.

I wonder if you can make me a crest with a raven on it like my avatar? Something more abstract and interconnected rather than looking like a cropped flag with the outline of a bird stamped on it. More specifically, the art would blend First Nations Art and its vibrant roundness and Islamic Art and its colourful geometrical patterning. The colour themes would involve Turquoise, Black, Red, and Gold.
Maybe I'm asking for too much with unpaid work.

This was the original crest:

I don't know if I can do much better than messing around with some found art for that type of thing. Could you maybe find an image or 3 that you think might be close to fitting the bill and I can see what I can do? I'm really not looking to spend hours on each one here, the one above took me only about 15-30 minutes to mess around with at full-size, mirror, and shrink to avatar size. If you like, I think I have the version still at full-size of the one above, but I may have actually not saved some of the final edits now that I think of it.

Hot diggedy! I could use an avatar like some of these too. [:'(]

Hmmm...I don't know what to suggest though that wouldn't be really vague or complicated or look not-horrible.

I like the idea of maybe a pseudo-Mesoamerican styled donkey with vivid dreamy fluoro colours and texture.
