I was thinking the same thing when I saw it! Gonna say electric/normal type?
Electric "rodent" would probably best be pichu, pikachu, raichu, pachirisu, or emolga.

My minicity is Zyphrazia and Novland

According to the old Kashubian fairy tale Terrence My Tenrec, if a tenrec likes you, his quills will turn soft as silk.
If not, then it's Ouch! - Don't hug me I'm scared a tenrec.

But, in that tale, the mean kids of the village called him a Poke-Peccary, not tenrec, for I don't think that the Glorious Malagasy Thalattohegemon had invaded the Solenhofen Isles yet...

...whoops. Wrong planetary continuity. [:3]

Still, a good story though.

...And cool choice of animal, too!

BTW, also look up the Moonrat (Echinosorex spp.), an ugly, quill-less cousin of the tenrec.
Though it looks a lot like our Virginia Oppossum, the Moonrat is a placental insectivore, not a marsupial.

I think they had tenrecs and moonrats in mind when artists reconstructed Deinogalerix, one heck of an insectivore near-apex predator from la Bella Italia.

If I'm not mistaken, most Italian mafiosi are direct lineal descendants of the Deinogalerix.

I am still patiently waiting for word on new developments in the Chickenosaurus/Dinochicken.

I know I will not be able to afford one of these critters when they debut. [:'(]

Heck. I'd be satisfied with 75-80% of the way there and settle on a Cockatrice.

Yes to all, friends, and so much more!
The con-people in my alt history fantasy novels are descended from a (fictional) cousin of the kinkajou. Unsurprisingly the Elizabethans mostly think they're faerie folk.

This is Anomalocaris, the so-called "abnormal shrimp":

That's one of my son's faves!

A para-arthropod with twain shrimp-abdomena for mouthparts.

I say funnel some of the funding for making a Chickenosaurus into making one of those!
Would they taste like crab, I wonder...?
WARNING: Crazy foodie gone wild! [xP]

... and funds for a Tiktaalik or two.

My guess is he meant an especially-old English spelling of "ramsons".

He he he. Whoops. [:$]
Thanks for calling it, Eldin.
Indeed. Forget there's no haitch at the head of that word.
Sorry.

Ramsons (Allium ursinum). Or ramps (Allium tricoccum) for that matter.
But the Woods near my home has more ramsons, with the pretty white flowerets bright.

"Haitch". Where you from?
When I was a kid in TamilNadu, my true last name -- viz. "Chappell" -- was spelled:
"See Hetch Yay Pea Pea Yee Yell Yell".

Have a kakapo. They're flightless nocturnal parrots. With whiskers. From New Zealand.

Wow, this is really what I needed for my conworld. It connects the idea of (telepathic) parrots as a communcation system with the idea that all birds are flightless. Also a nice justification for your cellphone not flying away if it gets tired of you. Also a very stylish green.
