Welskian

Post by LinguoFranco » Sun 04 Feb 2018, 02:55

Welskian is a conlang I am working on for a conculture. It is spoken by the Welskians, the indigenous inhabitants of a country called Welskerland, a landlocked constitutional monarchy. Welskian is a part of a language family, though all of its relatives are extinct and no longer spoken, making it somewhat of an isolate. Welskian is known to be spoken by approximately 10 million people, the population of Welskerland. Much of what is being presented below is not set in stone and can change at any time. The language has a CV(C) syllable structure. I haven't really decided on the morphology or syntax other than that Welskian is a supposedly a fusional language, though I plan to start with proto-Welskian as an agglutinative language and eventually evolve it into a fusional language. It has an SOV word order.

You have /a/ in ʒugal, but your phonology only lists /æ/ and /ɑ/. Is [a] an allophone for one of them?

...gonna go out on a limb and suggest it is merely an easier way to type /ɑ/, but I've been wrong before.

You're right, I just didn't want to have to copy and paste it all the time.
