It felt unnatural to use the plural in that kind of statement, especially for a language with facultative plural marking. 得, the focus particle, somewhat functions as a copula verb here.

I decided to drop the genitive particle 的,which is sometimes possible for inalienable possession, but I'm not sure if a kitten can be considered "inalienable" enough to qualify for that construction.
