Re: World genres

People on the worldbuilding forum on Reddit are always quick to give their worlds genres. I had no problem with this, until I learned that apparently "fantasy, because magic" isn't specific enough and I have to give my world a more specific genre like "high fantasy" or "low fantasy" or something. I...

Re: Lexember 2015

A bit late but close enough.

Onure: tsean, ['t͡se.an] (transitive verb) to improve, to prepare, to renovate, to upgrade, to make safe, to make tasty.

The last sense of the word was originally slang spread by Remaŋa nomads, and still isn't used by the Hekatsu or Rahekae clans.

I have Animate and Neuter/Inanimate genders; nations, being groups/organizations of people, are all Animate.

Re: Random phonology/phonemic inventory thread

My first try at complex consonant clusters. The second table is all possible onset clusters. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cspqi1fetfkyjue/randphonconsclus.png?dl=0 Link The voicing of the consonants in column 2 depends on the voicing of their column 1 counterpart. Anything wrong with that other than pr...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

What exactly is a Trepidative? A quick google search gave me nothing on the matter It's a term I coined from "trepidation", it's like a negative desiderative. It indicates the speaker fears the action happened or fears it will or perhaps desires it not to (generally, at least in my language's case ...

Yeah, this sounds more like a caste or moiety system rather than gender.
