Re: List of interesting language features

Something I never thought about posting. Piitish has a shift in meaning where "interpret" has come to mean "smell".

Tyþa in old norse
Tyda "Interpret" in modern Swedish
Tev "Smell" in Piitish

"Interpret" in Piitish is a variant of "toid"

This applies to standard Swedish. Storhunden Big-dog-the meaning the big dog with stress on the adjective is also possible, though regarded provincial.

Generally the first albums seems to be more popular but I ain't much for the screaming vocals they contains. The singing style in the middle albums is more in my styl...

Re: What did you accomplish today?

Ok, as I always rework my previous iterations I have a lot of the grammar stuff done but I'm stuck on the vowels. I have set my sights on a four vowel iteration but I can't decide on what kind of suprasegmental feature I want, or if I should have a couple more diphthongs. No more consonants I alread...

Re: Random phonology/phonemic inventory thread

What do yall think of this,

Code: Select all

b[B w] t[T] k[k] q[q] '[?]
       d[d] g[g]
n[n]
l[l] lh[K]
h[h] tsch[tS]
a i o u ia
h[h] is the main fricative. It is phonemic even in CVh[h] positions. So like everywhere.

edit: also brothel kind of looks like Swedish "bryt|a" to|break.
