Re: FreeWordOrder SerialVerb Concordial VerbClass

What do you mean by "concordial verb classes"? I had quick look Lao Kou's Géarthnuns thread and I couldn't identify anything that could be called that. (That thread is very long though, and it's likely it is there somewhere.) See https://listserv.brown.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0710a&L=CONLANG&X=O31D1CE...

Lao Kou [lau ku]
Oh my, no.

These are just standard transcriptions of pinyin.

老 as [lau] for "lao3" is probably okay as "ye olde chap you, dude, you"

彄 is my surname, same pronunciation as 口 [kou], but first tone, not third.

Kindly expunge the [ku] from your repretoire.

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I don't begrudge there may well be other methods out there, but how would one keep track of arguments? Without something commonly understood in place (word order, case marking, major context memory, or other), how could "Big run red dog car the from saw the I" (which does, it seems, have an order of...

Re: "Neutral" accents in second languages

Sorry for the confusion. Most major languages have a sort of "prestige variety" associated with them (I hope I'm using that right) which is not necessarily the prescribed form, but as sangi39 said, it's the more "neutral" and widely used accent on various media. Generally, when people learn a secon...
