I like the ascetic, but all you've done is provide a list of morphemes. How would they be used in a sentence?
From what little we’ve seen so far, I’d describe the aesthetic as anything but ascetic, what with its plethora of diacritics and thorns, but I suspect a typo was involved.

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Is anyone aware of any languages that distinguish labialises velar stops and labial-velar stops, and/or labialised alveolar stops and labial-alveolar stops? Frislander must be busy, or he would have responded to this. Enindhilyakwa distinguishes /k͡p kʷ/, and you might want to check if Yele does to...

Having said that, and unrelated to this (non-)issue, I’d be interested to see this 15-page torch. In fact, I’d be interested to see all the torches. Will they be made available? I can send it to you. Do you want the version with or without the gloss and english translation? Ooh I guess without migh...

Re: CBB Conlang Relay X

Deliberately throwing in spanners seems, to me, more obvious and less chuckle worthy. This. Following it up with bragging statements about “earning the right” to such spanners takes the fun down yet another level in my opinion, in addition to just being rather poor sportsmanship. Having said that, ...

Re: CBB Conlang Relay X

I like how Ring 1 shifted from a third-person narrative to first person, while Ring 2 eliminated the man completely and a woman becomes the focus. I’m really curious about the ‘ice and fire’ that appears out of nowhere in shimobaatar’s text. I’m tempted to assume that the Atruozan word for ‘nonethel...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I have a conlang with the following vowel system In the last case this would yield a distinction between [ɰ], [w] and [ʋ] in the onset. It does not seem to be a very stable distinction but is it impossible? Ashéninka apparently distinguishes /w wʲ j ɰ/ so I think you’re fine. Approximants are cool,...

Re: Guess the Word in Germanic Conlangs

I'd have counted nort's 'blocked nose' as close enough, in that case. I was thinking of the Icelandic word nefþrengsli , which probably does, come to think of it, correspond more closely to stuffy nose than blocked nose. In passing, I’m somewhat tempted to point out that I’m not nortaneous. [xD]

Sadly, I don’t believe in ghosts. If I did, that would probably mean I possessed the suspension of disbelief necessary to hold out hope for an afterlife, something I am - unfortunately - incapable of.

Re: The great Asta thread - not soon enough

I’m very much enjoying the aesthetic of Asta. The word wuyuwuyura‘a is adorable!

As for the adverbial suffices, I notice that they seem to stack. Is there a limit on how many adverbial suffixes can be found on a verb? Is there a hierarchy to their ordering?

Re: CBB Conlang Relay X

I’ve sent my translation of Alál → English to Click and dropped out. I have too many creative issues with Limestone, and I realised that it was a mistake to try and rush it through a relay.

My apologies for having held up the relay.

Re: CBB Conlang Relay X

Hi Everyone,

I’d like to apologise for the delay. I’ve been down with a stubborn flu, but I am working on the torch when I can. I hope to have it done and passed on in the next few days.

I really like this, not least because of the heavily Algonquian feel, and would like to read and comment on it properly, but I happen to be a) ill b) working on the relay torch, so it will have to wait a bit.

Torch passed to DesEsseintes! Sorry this took so long - the real world kept getting in the way. [:S] Torch received! Alál looks delicious. This was expected. Just a heads up that I’m already running 24 hours late as I hadn’t copied the torch when the forum went down. However, I’ve already translate...

Limestone Reborn! It’s been a while since I posted in this poor old neglected thread. In the three-and-a-half years since, my ideas and tastes have changed considerably, and I suddenly felt like sharing some of that. Therefore, without further ado, let’s take a look at what Limestone looks like now...

For some reason, and against my better judgment, I’m working on Apwapɨrɨng again. I’m supposed to be getting Limestone ready for the relay, but I seemingly have no control over my mind.
Edit: For some reason the name Ken had made it into my post
