I can't think of a song I like more. Listen to it all the way through — it gets so good.

Yeah, I guess. To me 'ai' and 'ei' clearly mean their IPA values, but it's not hard to guess why. Oh English, you and your vowel shifts.

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

In a sorta mix between a reference grammar and an advanced learning guide, where should I put information on math and numbers, since they're sufficiently different from other languages? Should it be its own section next to morphology and syntax and the like?

If you're going to make a phonetic representation of the letter 'H', shouldn't it be 'eitch'?

Re: Taking notes in your conlang

-How many words should my dictionary have/how finished should the grammar be before I begin to write my notes in Yi? That's an impossible question to answer, and it really depends on what type of note you're taking — e.g. if you're writing math notes, you're going to need alot of math jargon. The m...

Re: Diachronic conlanging challanges?

I have an in-universe conlang and I'd be really interested in seeing how y'all think it would change as it became natural, but it's far from complete, so maybe I could offer it next round.

Even the advanced version is still a general overview (and the ebook version is only 6$).

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I thought of present-like equivalents in hodiernal past and future, and then something like a "paulo-post" future as an immediate future, and a "paulo-ante" past as an immediate past, but got stuck on the issue of "what about actions i'm in the middle of right now", and more or less lost wind in my...

Re: Why do most conlangers dislike digraphs when romanizing?

Joking aside, there does seem to be a fascination with "exotic" sounds. I can't hear a difference between many of the IPA sounds. I'm told there's a difference between the /t/ in "top" and the /t/ in "stop". I can't hear it. When I do hear a difference it's far too subtle for me to imagine it being...

Wow, that's awesome. Never would have guessed they used a female singer.

Okay, okay — is there any woman who can go this low? Wormed has the gutturalest vocals i've ever heard.

Seems the sound guy there didn't have his levels set right. You can hear her better here (though she's still incomprehensible but that's grindcore for you). Looks like i need to do away with my conception that women don't sound as good doing extreme vocals as men (although we still have the domain ...

How about Thy Art Is Murder ? I'm not a deathcore fan at all, but when I used to be, I loved their first full-length album, and it has sticked with me ever since. Re: New conlang I am planning

Wouldn't it be simpler just to use <v>, <g> and <f> for these three? They are recent imported, non-native sounds and local laws mandate the change of spelling of foreign words to the local language, much like Finland used to do. No non-native letters allowed. Coca-Cola is spelled Kóka-Kóla. The Vol...

Do those sites have information on other uncommon consonants, such as the bilabial trill or labiodental flap? I want to see how many other conlangs have them.
