Re: Project Unobtainium: a space opera conworld

If spots are still open to join, then I would love to join as well!

Also a question, what are you thoughts on missiles, these can range from good ol' space nukes to things like star wars's proton missiles?

Re: A conearth idea

What timeframe are we looking at here? I personally think it's really interesting to imagine alternative European histories because Europe is just so wonderfully complex. I think it would be interesting to see these migrations occur sometime in the 11th to 14th centuries. That would leave you plent...

Re: A conearth idea

That being said, I think it could be a very interesting idea for you to work with, as long as you keep in mind that you could be getting close to something that's a sensitive topic for lots of people. I'm not saying you're trying to emulate that kind of ideology, but just be aware that this idea ex...

-alo: This ending turns adjectives into adverbs, although usage of this can be a little tricky, because a few irregular adjectives completely change meaning in their adverbial form. To use simply, preform the same procedure as ato. Sounds a lot like English. Can you give any more details? Yes, I ca...

A conearth idea

So, I had an interesting idea for an Earth-based conculture within the east germanic group. It would exist where mordern day Lithuania, Poland, and Belarus exist with those cultures having never lived in those areas, for example the slavs and old baltics in that area were wiped out, or made insignif...

Re: Proto-Vidar: A beginner's conlanguage

So, I was looking through my word list and looking at what Gen spit out, I noticed that it prefered several word endings that have made it into the Proto-Vidar list of postfixes. -Ato : This ending turns an adjective into a noun, that means the one that is this, IE girzato means one that is slow. To...

Re: Creating idioms and slang in your conlang

A saying in Proto-Vidar is Farines girzatot kavinonkandi, it means one who is slow dies by the sword. It's a military saying that one throws at a person to snidly say you think they aren't a person who is quick in the head.

So, today I have more stuff on culture and religion. When it comes to how the Vidarans view purity, its not a thing of virginity as it is in Western Culture, but it is dependent on whether or not that Human has killed another being, and as such the Vidarans and Bucretans try to keep women away from ...
