Re: Zhér·dûn

This is an interesting conlang - a Germanic language that resembles an East Asian language! There probably is no plausible place where such a language could be spoken "in the real world", but as an experiment, it is nice. Actually, if Ixals would make this North Germanic, we could say descendants o...

All of the knowledge of the world, in the real world? No.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I googled this and found a Wikipedia article on it.

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

It's common for coda palatals to be realized with a palatal onglide in languages that have them. Could you elaborate further, please? "(IPA [j]) glide, that either precedes (an on-glide) or follows (an off-glide) the main vowel." So in this case [Vɲ#] -> [Vjɲ#]. Correct me if I'm wrong. And Wikiped...

Re: Yay or Nay?

Since pː → pʰ is attested, how likely is the opposite pʰ → pː in an intervocalic environment? Both [pʰ] and [pː] could be viewed as fortis realizations of [p]. Yea or Nay on making them interchangeable intervocalically such that: p pʰ → f p \ V_V Maybe, though I'd like to see real world examples of...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

What is your question exactly? If it's about what order to put the morphemes in and whether to treat them as one word or two, those are language-specific issues. There are some tendencies regarding where modifiers go in relationship to a modified term, or "head". If the head tends to go after the m...

So I am thinking the languages on the east got the bilabial voiced plosive from strengthening between vowels and then the first vowel disappears, uhhh I don't think me using a vague word like "central" helped me at all.

I also tried comparing components such as stress and having something to do with nasality in the coda, but I didn't find too much information.
