Re: Keeping Track of Things

This is a big question, but the answer is not as illusive as you might think. Excel (or Google Docs), or any of these, really . Word, or other word processing programs. Excel like programs are good for vocabulary and even diachronics, but word-like programs are best for grammar, phonologies, and tra...

If you're wondering why I see a Hebrew influence, the second block in the left column of the hand written looks like a Hebrew word <ZH> /zɛ/ "This" with a hastily written (or the handwritten style of Jews living in the Early Islamic World) glyph for <z>/
I can see that.

Re: Various Styles

I like the handwritten and kufic, but the former looks like the bastard lovechild of hanguel and simplified hanzi with Hebrew ad the godfather. The kufic is more unique. I've always liked your epigraphic style best of all. The handwritten style is extremely attractive as well! I prefer the handwrit...

I'm going to miss the "special" ranks, not only because they've been an easy way to identify who wrote a post at a glance (especially for those of us who just can't figure out how to get a profile picture/avatar that's the right size), but because I thought it was a fun system that gave board membe...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

So. I've been mulling over a significant change to Kala grammar...Cases. Currently, to mark the object of a verb, the particle " ke " is placed before it, and the verb is in the final position, i.e. SOV. tahi ke mitam anyaye boy O dog-PL see-PST The boy saw the dogs. I already have "- yo " which ess...

Re: Should Romanisations be "Necessary"?

Regardless of the transcription scheme chosen, it will also need to include IPA (or X-SAMPA), which effectively means it's virtually romanized. As already mentioned, any attempt to avoid transcription will likely be met with a lack of interest and quite possibly derision.

Dhadakha—Lortho's writing system—has gone over a slight overhaul. I made a simplified version which makes it much easier to read. In addition, it allowed me to make a more practical handwritten version. Script (font) samples: Original (bookish) script: https://i.imgur.com/UL8q4CNh.jpg Simplified (c...
