Re: Some Proverbs

I agree. Authority my ass. :3

My Conlang is not fleshed out enough to make this yet, but I thought of something like this.
"The biggest man stoops not to words." - Those who are truly at peace, feel no reason to tell anybody of their achievements.

Re: Accents.

Maybe slightly Spanish or Greek. Not sure, since those are the languages I know most besides English. Maybe even slightly French. :p Hello! My name is Ty. What is yours? /hɛlɔ/ /mɑɪ neɪm ɪz tɑɪ/ /wɒt ɪz jɔɾs/ Haha, that's basically my top hat wearin', tea drinkin' Englishman accent with the excepti...

Re: Concepts we have that your conpeoples DON'T have.

I thought the Inyauk saw ownership of another kind of 'bad', so isn't that a 'sin'?

Respect.
There is no 'hierarchy' of 'worth'. Everyone has the same worth. No one, or nothing is right, nor wrong. They only choose what they feel is the way to their desires.

This is starting to look pretty good. Not as an Auxlang particularly, but it just looks like an interesting lang now.

It doesn't appear you know anywhere near enough Linguistics to be able to make an IAL.

I changed it now. /a/ no longer exists as anything other than an dialectal allophone of /ɑ/.

Re: Phonology for an unnamed Conlang.

But <x> is a letter usually used for consonants, regardless if it ''doesn't really have any real value''. What preset value a letter carries depends very much on your mother tongue. And we're from different countries, here. In my mother tongue, it has a very well defined sound value. My point is, t...

Re: Phonology for an unnamed Conlang.

If you make up / use a romanisation, you should stay as much as possible close to an existing usage of the letters, either the one of your native tongue (if it uses a romanisation), making it easy for you, or, if you want to present it in an English forum, to English, making it a lot easier for all...

Re: Phonology for an unnamed Conlang.

<x> is the best thing I could find for /a/ without adding diacratics. I think that having one vowel that is shown with a diacratic is a little pointless. I forgot to mention, /p, t, k/ are slightly voiced, so when they are prenasalized, they end up becoming completely voiced (for comfort). The Phono...

Accents.

If someone who spoke your Conlang natively learnt to speak English, how do you think it would sound? What would be the 'distinctive' part of the accent?

If you get an incorrect syllable, you whip out the vowel.

If you had, /tok/ and added /sa/ you would have /stok/ ;]

Re: Self-Modification

Not really in all cases, or at least not without side effects. I'm not short, but I'm much shorter than I'd like to be, and unless I have a later growth spurt (very unlikely with my genetics), I won't grow any taller. The only way I could get taller would be through surgery, which would not be seen...
