Re: Lexicon milestones

I'm quite scared by the 75 pronouns above (really how'd you do that?), but, anyway, Proto-Gigxpoyan has just reached 200 words, the 200th being:

'pakt' n. mushroom, fungus

Re: A challenge to language universals

If you say that universals also apply to conlangs, no universal is going to be actually true, since conlangers can come up with ways(probably not in the same language though) to break every proposed universal.
That's why Micamo said they only apply to natlangs.

The most interesting part of this attempt, is to see just how many univrsals can he break.

Not exactly today, but i have been fleshing out interesting infinitive usage in Proto-Tjivnjïs and Expanding Proto-Gigxkpoyan lexicon.

And yeah, everyone agrees Pazmat is beautiful.

Laughed a whole lot, but thankfully i was not in any public place.

Cool. But it looks like anything but Portuguese. (the <k> thing is actual very cool, etimology makes everything feel real)

Re: The phonology of my Mandarin-like conlang

Your lang is very cool, one gotta love its consonants (reminds me of Mongolian, but it seems everything's been doing that lately [O.o] ). The grammar is also very cool (not very mandarin-like, as other have noticed)

And i'm also against the apostrophes, i like huge inflected forms [;)]

Re: How do you create a conlang?

If some of you have problems with the lack of ideas, i may have problems of excessive creativity: I have an idea for a conlang (in some random aspect, normally phonology but it varies) i work like a week on that and then i have another completely unrelated idea that sounds cooler at the moment and i...

Re: Complex orthography for conlangs

V) BACK FRICATIVES /ç x ɣ h/ will need to be represented somehow. /x h/ are even quite frequent and so they need to be written with a single letter, I think. /h/ can be simply <h>, but I'm unsure about /x/, not to mention the other two. The Roman alphabet is not friendly with /x/. If <ç k> are unus...

I understand the question as being:

"What would you call something that's in the accusative case, but isn't a syntactical object?"

Re: Proto-Nautli: A diachronic collablanging project

Regardless of the results of this vote we can probably still add some other moods.

If i'm not crazy, Imperative and Prohibitive are Deontic. The 'can' and 'try' moods are probably Epistemic, and, according to Wikipedia, Interrogative is Epistemic too.

Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world

We can't possibly keep all of Teles' cultures totalitarian. The simplest way to put it less advanced than Earth is to simply have a 'present' not as present as our present. Hence something like 1927. They'd have some machines, and electricity too but no computers or anything digital and no nuclear p...

That's a cool idea, but by 10000BK we're not even neolithic yet. It will be cooler when there's some actual civilizations.
