Re: Yay or Nay?

Is that too inconsistent/weird? I don't think it's too inconsistent, nor too weird. It may be a matter of personal tastes. If we go by the responders on this thread so far, two out of three prefer fortition, one out of three has no preference. Yeah i don't think it's inherently inconsistent either ...

Bump (?)

I can create a challenge if loglorn is unable to.
You can do it. Working on several projects had the downside of forgetting some of them every once in a while.

Re: Yay or Nay?

Some background: I have a language with front-back vowel harmony that uses diaeresis to mark the "opposite variant" vowels, i.e. /y ø æ ɤ/ as <ü ö ä ë>. I mark historically palatalized consonants with an acute accent, i.e. /ɲ tʃ ʃ ʒ/ as <ń ć ś ŕ>. There are no other voicing distinctions in stops or...

AKA Abugida (According to Omniglot) I don't know what's Omniglot's criteria, but Dezinaa is clearly making a distinction here between an Abugida, that is, primary consonant glyphs with secondary vowel diacritics, versus what he cal...

Double post, but I just came up with this and I love it: savurayyaśamāmi... Since (he) will want to visit (soon)... And if you need to make it even longer... savurayyaśamallītāmi.. Given that (he) (soon) will want to visit (us) so strongly... Actually I think I can stretch these participles even fu...

Re: What did you accomplish today?

I fleshed out a conlang in the year 3017 derived from American English. Here is a sample sentence. Jups kwak bren fes ava lozh deg. [dʒups kwak bren fes ava loʒ deg] jump-PRES quick brown fox-SING over lazy dog-SING I'd say you could've been more radical, both phonetics-wise and grammar wise. Espec...

Re: Yay or Nay?

I've recently gotten into Chữ Nôm and I think it might be one of my favorite writing systems aesthetically. I was wondering what you guys thought about the idea of me making a language, probably Austroasiatic, Malayo-Polynesian, or Tai-Kadai, written in Chữ Nôm? Does it seem kinda pointless? If it ...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I have some weird rules in my conlang. I want to know if the rules are acceptable. In other words, can a human speaker use theses rules spontaneously and non-prescriptively? Are the rules is stable for a long time? There is a word that means "this/that". It is usually followed by a noun, but the no...
