Re: Proto-Nautli: A diachronic collablanging project

Only one series of fricatives, approximants yes. No tone (except stress maybe), but length distinction. Are you voting or declaring? Just a vote. I think we can declare on average mostly, so that most of the opinions are respected, so maybe the result will be a mix out of the abovementioned answers.

Only one series of fricatives, approximants yes. No tone (except stress maybe), but length distinction. EDIT: And could we please use no /f/? sorry, but I hate that sound [:D] /β/ is more likeable for me, and one question: as we have labial sounds, does that also mean we have labiodentals? And anoth...

Re: Proto-Nautli: A diachronic collablanging project

I'm finally back [:)] I know I was the one that suggested the pharyngeal phoneme be unspecified, but then I thought of a weird phoneme, partly inspired by the sandhi rules for the glottal stop in TLFKAT: the pharyngeal "stop" could be a glottalised pharyngeal fricative. Such a phoneme is probably un...

Re: Proto-Nautli: A diachronic collablanging project

I'm not able to get to my computer until Monday. That means that I can't write some of the IPA Symbols (and I'm not used to X-SAMPA), furthermore, I lack some English vocabulary and am not able to look them up in my cellphone ()to bad internet), and finally, writing longer textes hurts my thumbs. [:...

Re: Proto-Nautli: A diachronic collablanging project

Vowel harmony with three vowels? Wow, that would be strange ^^ I'll leave this question a bit open, but open another: which kinds of consonants should Nautli have? As it's a maritime language, maybe not too much. 1. Place of articulation a) bilabials b) labiodentals c) dentals d) alveolars e) postal...

Re: Proto-Nautli: A diachronic collablanging project

So b) it is: Proto-Nautli will be agglutinative.

Next is the phonology, and let's start with the vowels.

How many vowels should there be?

a) 3
b) 4
c) 5
d) 6
e) 7
f) 8 or more

also, with kind of vowels should exist?

a) only front vowels
b) only back vowels
c) mixed
d) mixed with vowel harmony

Proto-Nautli: A diachronic collablanging project

Hello there! You might have heard of Felbah's diachronic conlanging project, called Teles (if not, you can look it up here http://aveneca.com/cbb/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3976 ). Unfortunately, one of the supposed language families, called Proto-Nautli, has no creator any more :/ So what to do? You migh...

DesEsseintes wrote: Do it! (but who am I to say...) Is the collablang thread also gonna be in the Conworlding forum?
I'll open it now. But as it's a language, I will put it into conlangs.

EDIT: Damn, I definitely don't know how to write this. Could someone else do, please? :/ I'm overstrained.

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Ok, so as your opinion is so concordant (and accords with mine), I'll change it definitely. Thank you all! @Iyionaku The new orthography is definitely a big improvement in my opinion. However, why do you find it necessary to write the words and and or joined to the following word? In my opinion, you...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I've also got a question. My main conlang has a lot of apostrophes in it - maybe too much, so I planned a reform of orthography, where the definite article sticks to the noun, as o (of, from), è (and) and ù (or) will act too, and prepositions are written separately. The letter ' which depicts the vo...

Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world

With cntrational's accordance, I'd say we keep the old name.

EDIT: Are we starting a new topic for that? I think creating a collablang in this thread would eclipse any other contributions in here.

Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world

Well, do you think we need one? I still don't understand the principle of polysynthetic languages, and furthermore, there is already a polysynthetic collablang in this board, but if the majority likes the conception of a polysynthetic collablang, it's fine. We could also make an agglutinative langua...
