Re: Lazin (Romlang)

Given the location, it is expected to have a Slavic (Slovenian) substrate, especially in vocabulary.

Fingal and Wexford (Bargy & Forth). The romlang can be heavily influenced by Norman and Old (West) Norse; of course things are different in case of a romlang preserved in England.

Re: How to make a (pseudo-)Paleo-Balkanic conlang?

As for Proto-Albanian homeland, Orel said it was marshy land, not mountainous nor coastal, with few valleys; I guess Pannonia or Wallachia may fit. In terms of indigenous vocabulary, words for cattle and sheep herding is abundant; in PA there are much more Latin loanwords than Greek ones. Then it co...

How to make a (pseudo-)Paleo-Balkanic conlang?

Recently I've read A Concise Historical Grammar of Albanian by Vladimir Orel and The Language of Thracians (in its English translation, see: http://groznijat.tripod.com/thrac/) by Ivan Duridanov, as well as several papers by other Bulgarian scholars such as Bilyana Mihaylova. They came up with a hyp...

Re: Pelsodian, a Hungarian romlang

I just meant that this project may not seem so "realistic"; for a situation like Cappadocian Greek, extensive language contact and bilingualism is needed, and its speakers comprise a minority in local population. What's more, topography should be taken into consideration.

Re: Pelsodian, a Hungarian romlang

Well, after nearly a thousand years of coexistence, Romanian (in Transylvania, Banat and Partium etc.) didn't become so strange under agglutinative influence; instead, it forms part of the Balkan Sprachbund. On the other hand, Slovak doesn't seem to have exotic traits, just an average Slavic languag...

Re: Ởnh·Vú- Chamic Language

Why does the reflex of "ville" refer to Paris, instead of borrowing the proper noun itself? Well, IMHO the word for "city", ville, is more suitable to serve as a nickname for Saigon. Well, how come all of 李/黎/劉/柳/留/呂/廖/盧/陸/雷/羅 have the same pronunciation? They do not have the same tone in Middle Chi...

Мин худ — у вороміжі вочі.

Мин флютобіт флед ялім.

Інафорові груні туча сліпудь торну.

Сфор князорич, міч я вовт суд зері, ну я ная.

So where is Cissia located? Here's Zakarpattia Oblast, maybe plus Romania's Maramures County? Is it possible for them to be Greek Catholic like in west Ukraine?

Re: Cissian

Well, how come they use the Cyrillic alphabet? Located in the Carpathian Basin, they are supposed to be Roman Catholic or Calvinist. Is it spoken in Great Hungarian Plain?

Edit: it is also possible to be located in Carpathian Ruthenia.
