Interesting verb and nice hiragana. I don't see why you couldn't have both your hiragana and normal Japanese ones, due to centuries of political or cultural dominance by Japan and perhaps not have any katakana. I can't think of a story to justify borrowing one Japanese system and not the other, thou...
