Bløjhvåtterskyll: (has no conlang wiki page yet. Where can you buy time and energy to make a good grammar "book" and lessons?) There's a CBB page about it though, but there waaay too little information there. ---- Isn't it a good idea to include information about how many words the conlangs have and...

Re: Bløjhvåtterskyll: conlang with more than 1500 words!

The game Minecraft is being translated into Bløjhvåtterskyll. Check it out! Translating a game such as Minecraft is actually very good for a language. I'd to add hundreds of new words, such as (these are random examples) Llod (clay), stainje (save), Nogošvåttasjyd (charcoal), Åkäv (spider), Kap (sti...

Re: What did you accomplish today?

That's actually kind of cool. [:D] It makes me want to do something like that for one of my conlangs, but not a single one uses any real script (i.e. Cyrillic, Latin). Well, it's possible to design your own font for Minecraft, so it's also possible to design your own script by making a font using y...

The last few weeks I've been working on a translation project for the game 'Minecraft': I'm translating the whole game to Bløjhvåtterskyll. All the information about the translation project, screenshots and a download link so you can use it is on the Minecraft Forum: http://www.minecraftforum.net/fo...

I recommend finding a copy of A Practical Introduction to Phonetics , which'll teach you how to understand and pronounce IPA and phonetic descriptions. Or, if one prefers to save both time and money, one might click this link . I do find these veeery helpful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPA_vowel_...

- It's been around for 6 months, and has accumulated around 17 proficient speakers . - I actually never made proper grammar for Vyrmag, but instead, I let the community use the language and then I later logged down certain aspects of grammar. In short, I created a crude language with many missing f...

Re: Ukiku (Introduction)

Looks interesting.

The low amount of both consonants and vowels surprises me with all those XXL phoneme inventories I see often on these forums.
The lack of /l/ surprises me even more.

What kind of language will Ukiku be? With or without cases? With a lot of suffixes or without?

Oh gosh, a three-year old topic... Yes, I'd like to speak Bløjhvåtterskyll fluently. But I can't really do that. Yes, reading aloud a text written in Bløjhvåtterskyll is no problem, and I have enough grammar so I almost never have to add a bunch of grammar when I want to translate a little text. I h...

Re: Random ideas: Morphosyntax

When a dialect becomes so different from the standard language, the grammar becomes bizarre and it is difficult to figure out the new grammatical rules. Without clear rules, it is difficult to make a consistent conlang that uses rules like those. This is an example of Portuguese. I have modified th...
