Re: ixals' scratchpad

Very nice! I appreciate that you've shown some of the development from the protolanguage. Thank you! [:D] There's something very pleasing to me about this language's phonology and orthography. I particularly like how the low vowel is nasalized by default, the lack of <k>, and the distribution of ge...

Re: Cissian Revisited

Definitely want to see more of this, Ixals! You claim it's close to West/South but to me it appears very East Slavic. Thanks for reminding me that this conlang still exists [:O] I always try to get rid of the East Slavic as much as I can but it looks like I'll never achieve that because I really wa...

Cissian Revisited

After reworking Cissian in private for the second or third time, I thought it would be time to leave the old thread and everything I thought was good back then behind and make a fresh start. So let me introduce you to: Cissian Revisited #01: Introduction & Phonology Cissian, the language of the Tisz...

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

There were Proto-Slavic verbs ending in -ati that had -aje- throughout its conjugation, but there were also thoe ending in -ati that had -ite or -ete . Serbo-Croatian and West Slavic changed the first to a simple -a- afaik (I guess in Czech it is because a lot of VjV sequences were reduced, as the i...

I'm planning to make a Slavic language of Balkans. What could its name be? Serbo-Croatian? [:P] What exactly is your plan? Just another language spoken in the Balkans or some kind of auxlang? The "of Balkans" part confuses me I'd just pick the name of the region it's spoken in or some other feature...

Do you think it's reasonable/natural for this de-diphthongisation to occur in monosyllabic words where stress doesn't really play a part?
If these words are unstressed, I don't see why not. If they are stressed, I'm not sure.
