Re: Anglo-Romance Language Collab

The umlaut process happened in Proto-Germanic, not in Old English(the process had already finished). However, an umlaut-like process would be intriguing, albeit not realistic

Re: Alternate English Collablang

Hmm. I like the idea, but lets just notice that England was pretty isolated in the world at this point and was also relatively divided, like most feudal states. An alliance with Spain likely means nothing in terms of language, as well ( It could influence geopolitics though) Absolutely right, geopo...

Re: Alternate English Collablang

Galicia-Leon as they were the closest realm in term of geography to England. Also, they were a major contender in the region at the time. Thus, it makes sense for them to send a few troops to England out of respect, but not a whole army

Alternate English Collablang

I wanted to start an Alternate English Collablang based on possible scenarios that change the development of English into a different language. Re: Anglo-Romance Language Collab

Perhaps we should spend more time rethinking the vowel system. Authenticity is key when creating languages like these. What Qwed117 makes sense. Honestly, vowel shifts should be based on common developments(individual sound change) in linguistics. Trying to put Spanish's vowel system onto another la...

If there is a reformation in this world could there be an option be to stay Catholic or become Protestant? Would be loss of...
