Re: Discussion of Indo-European language family.

I love when watching a Hindi movie and I can find a related word in English. :D
(That's pretty much the extent of my historical linguistics.)

Ok, see, now that looks Mongolian-y.

Very nice at that.

Very Mongolian-ly.

Do I see some Hebrew letter inspirations in there?
Or is that just because of me.
Danke!

And it's just you. I never liked the aesthetic of hebrew.

Re: Topic of scripts

Here we go. The same sentences, but handwritten. Word final vowels are the most obvious difference. And the hook, has only one hump written, but that's cause I changed it after making the font. http://a.imageshack.us/img831/6219/screenshot20100812at605.png http://a.imageshack.us/img411/4649/scannedi...

Re: Topic of scripts

Not really, Looks like a mixture of Arabic and Mongolian. I can see that too, but those aren't nearly as rigid in design, nor do they use a full circle that straddles the connecting line. 1. It's a digital rendering. 2. There are obviously some of the person's own innovations. lol. I used to love d...

Re: Topic of scripts

I've posted some of my script before on the old board. But I won't post a transliteration. This the first couple of sentences of Rapunzel. http://a.imageshack.us/img831/6219/screenshot20100812at605.png When I was making this, I do go through writing it out and it's pretty easy once you get used to i...

I only meant in the sense that he like constructing languages too. So do hundreds of other people that have just as iconic symbols. Would you support the use of the Klingon Imperial Seal simply because it belongs to a conlang? Yes. But to be honest, I don't really care. On aethetics, is there a rea...

Re: New CBB

I don't know about anger but it is certainly annoying. I like for my signature to be small and concise, but the extra lines kill it. I just seem to be randomly enraged by certain insignificant things. One example: When I can't pronounce a word right. Another: When people step in my lawn. Both of th...

Re: New CBB

On aethetics, is there a reason for the empty space under our signatures? It kinda bothers me. It bothers you too? I thought I was the only one.. For some reason blank space makes me angry. Do you get the same kind of anger when you see blank space? I don't know about anger but it is certainly anno...

Re: New CBB

I guess something Tolkien related would be appropriate. I firmly disagree. This is not a fanfic bboard, nor is it related to hobbits, per se. Re: Makurungou Language (Moved from last forum.)

This generally well thought out. I would like to see the ipa, when you get to it.

What is a deity/deitess tense? Is it a noun category?

My only issue is: Why foxes would speak like humans? (I assume they are fox-creatures like your avatar.)

If you need to draw trees on the computer.

Tree Form can save you a lot of hassle. I believe it's windows only though.

That, and it's aesthetic failure (that MrKrov rightly alludes to) is all the more reason we should avoid it like herpes.

In seriousness though, I prefer the current logo to the old logo. The tiny font (conlangs, conworlds...) bothers me a little, because it looks like the image was sized down poorly.

Note: Cbeebies is the BBC's kids' channel.

But coolness. It's all shiny and new and ready for vicious conlang battles.
