What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

Mimi sijambo ingawa nimevunjiwa moyo. Ewe mambo vipi kwako?
I'm doing fine although I've had my heart broken. At work, everything is going along, with a couple of complications but they're not big ones. Now I have a therapist and I see him twice a week. And how are things with you?

Me too. I like meeting up with some friends I took French classes with, but it's tough to pick a date.

Nĭmen zài hánjià zěnme zuò?
What are you doing in your winter holidays?

Wŏ bìxū kàn wŏ jiā, wŏ hé āyí de jiā méi jiànmiàn bànnián zhìshăo. Yīncĭ déi măi lĭwù.
I need to visit my family, I haven't met the family of my aunt for at least half a year. Therefore I need to buy some presents.

Bìngqiě wŏ huì yóuxì hěnduō Rèntiāntáng míngxīng dà luàn dòu tèbié băn!
Furthermore I'm going to play a lot of Super Smash Bros Ultimate!

Wipe the glass. This is the usual way to start, even in the days, day and night, only a happy one.

Nĭmen hăo?
How are you?

Wŏ chángcháng zài hánjià gēn péngyŏu qù jiŭbā hē le báijiŭ.
I often went to the bar to drink alcohol with my friends in the winter holidays.

Jīntiān wŏ dĕi fùxí zhōngwén shēngcí, kĕshì wŏ xiànzài bù xiăng fùxí.
Today I have to review Chinese vocabulary, but I don't like to review now.

Yīnwèi wŏ jiā juéde shèngdàn méiyŏu yìsi, suŏyĭ wŏmen zhĭ zài cāntīng chīfàn le.
Because my family thinks Christmas is not interesting, we just ate at a restaurant.

I chose it due to its growing importance.

Sometimes I think the the class should be improved because the teachers use some expression that we did not yet learn. That confuses me from time to time.

Pourquoi pas ?
Why not?

That would annoy me for sure.

Have you been able to find the unexpected vocabulary's definition without too much trouble?

Well, I wanted to say "quelques locutions", the s-key of my keyboard is a bit broken. Is it also not said anymore?

No difficulties! We receive a list of the words we have to learn every lesson. It can be found online.

The majority of new words is written with already known characters, so that makes learning them a bit easier, I'd say.

Oh, I understand. "Quelques" is a lot more common. There is also the partitive article, which sometimes corresponds to English "some".

The choice depends on the amount of emphasis, with "quelques" being more marked than the partitive.

I would venture a guess that the PG-folk kitbashed an early version of the Deutschlandlied (1778) for the first ditty.
I can only guess that the name of the titular Whistlepig in the second tune must be Zuzannah.

Where do you guys usually practice your languages? I see so much linguistic competence here on the forum, but generally not a lot of activity in the threads where you can use them here.

Hum, où je pratique moi ?
Hmm, where do I practice?

Since I finished college, it's been a much less formal process.

I watch French Youtube videos, and I take every chance to see a French film at the movies.

Speaking is more difficult to practice because there aren't a ton of French conversation groups where I live, but I often talk to myself in French.

I don't have much difficulty practicing writing because I've always had a knack for it, whatever the language.

I don't practise in those threads because I'm not good at natlangs and there are many people here that can speak that language proficiently. Whenever I try to speak it, it just ends up being a relex anyway.

Note: I'm assuming you meant languages that we are learning, not other natlangs that we are already fluent in (native/bilingual etc).

I think that speaking to yourself is excellent for practice.

That the skills involved in writing well match the way I think.

Good spelling, attention to grammatical details, an eye for style …

The understanding that the dictionary is my best friend.
[xD]

So I don't need as much practice to keep up my French writing level as I do for the other language skills.
