What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

I did it all in Photoshop. It's not especially hard, so let's run through the steps:

First, to make a bump map, I desaturated your original image and adjusted the brightness and contrast of the gold section to match the rest of it as best as possible. This is not an ideal solution, but it's the best I could do since I don't have the original. It looks kind of neat though anyway, because it ended up leaving a bit of an artifact around the edge, which helps make it look like two separate pieces of metal.

I then took this grayscale image and dumped it into an alpha channel, and inverted black and white. This completes the bump map.

To make the base texture, I greyed out the details of your original image and just kept the shape. Then I recolourized the gold inset using a more realistic colour I sampled by averaging out a portion of a photo of a gold-coloured coin.

After this, I chose an appropriate metal texture from the internet and combined this with the texture (I set the layer type to "overlay") to create the base texture.

Now with the two parts ready, I just played around with Photoshop's lighting effects filter, using the alpha channel as my bump map, until I found an angle, intensity, and bump level I liked, and that was that.

Here's another one, although unfortunately your watermark is interfering:

This is inspiring me to make the Yabushionese coins (there are five).

Those coins are out of this world! They would make marvelous additions to my coin collection if they were real. Alas, they're not... all I can do is drool.
I like my languages how I like my women: grammatically complex with various moods and tenses, a thin line between nouns and verbs, and dozens upon dozens of possible conjugations for every single verb.

OMG MONEY

Again, these are awesome. (I can get you an unwatermarked version, if you're interested.) And I should probably start fiddling around; thanks for the instructions!

Love those coins! [<3]

A lot simpler, my son was creating a bunch of Cenozoic beasties on his Bloxxworld account.
So I made him a simple Coat-of-Arms using his two current faves: Megaloceras and Phorusrhacos-

I thought we had a recipe/cooking thread somewhares, but I can't find it.

Image

Anyhow, I had a leftover roasted sweet potato.
I cut up and cubed half (it's a big heavy croquet-ball of a camote).

I had some leftover finely-milled gruel (millet, oatmeal, flaxseed, pepitas, sunflower seeds) ground up in my coffee-grinder (which I only use for gruel).

I coated the sweet pot chunks with the dry gruel powder - OMG: delicieux! [:P]

No sugar or other sweeteners, so my diebeetus begrudgingly gives it a thumbs up.

Now, where's my melon-baller go to.....

[:P]

Nice work!!

An easy-peasy way to make yourself a font is http://www.myscriptfont.com. You basically print out this grid, hand-write / draw your runes on the grid, scan that in to their website and you get a .ttf at the end. I used that for Queranaran, even though it's kind of limited as to number of characters. It beats having to mess around with actual font creation software. (Mind you, if any kind soul out there would like to tackle that job...)

Once you install the font, you can use it in your favorite word processor or drawing program.

Actually, I already have a .ttf font for my conscript, and I used it while making the images above [:D]

What I meant was that there was no way to use/embed .ttf file formats on this forum, so I can't use the conscript whenever I reply to translation threads, and I can't be bothered to upload/make a new image for each gloss.

Is the young woman in the Employee ID card an actual metallurgist IRL or not?
Acquainted with you IRL or not?
If "not" and "not", can you tell us where you found her picture (or not)?

And BTW I really enjoyed your music on your soundcloud page.

No problem. The link is helpful for those who want a handwriting-to-font generator :)

Nah, she is actually a celebrity, so I got the picture from her Instagram webpage. We can't just use pictures of random non-public people due to privacy reasons ;)

Thanks for visiting my soundcloud profile!

Kinda suspected something like that.
Edit: Are you allowed to use photos of friends and relatives and acquaintances, if they're past the age of majority, mentally competent, and give you their informed consent?
And, if so, have you ever done so? (Don't be too specific about exactly which uses you put their pictures to -- if you did.)

I tried to do it in a test prep style similar to SAT/MCAT/GRE/GCSE/A-level, but it's really just a quick for-fun thing. I probably have no intentions of completing the actual thing lol
That looks great! You did a good job with the formatting. Are you using LaTeX or just Word? I may have to "borrow" some of your formatting choices to use in my Dijo textbook that looks more like a research paper than anything else at the moment - but then again, that's what LaTeX generally does without some serious work.

The document was made with OpenOffice, so yea a word processor. However, if you are referring to the conscript, then it's just a .ttf font file, which unfortunately might not be suitable for your alphasyllabary.

Sure, you can follow this formatting style, though I might do some changes if I decide to continue it, like adding some random cute animal pictures [xD]

No school textbook is complete without random pictures of animals. Also, don't forget the picture of the guy mountain climbing in the unit about verb conjugation.

I began a short story today, and am on a roll - four small pages in already! Maybe I'll
post it when it's done, but it's currently handwritten so I'd have to type it up first (and probably finish it :P )
