Oh, of course it is! I just mean that, for many of us, it's not easy to get past the phonology, not that we're not interested in theoretically doing so. Creative block is a menace!
I appreciate this. But for me, and I don't consider myself clinically insane, Géarthnuns just wouldn't shut the f***k up.
We approach our projects in different ways and from different angles, and that's fine. I just wish there were things to look at other than IPA charts and Esperanto-esque paradigms from time to time.

I guess I'm fortunate that phonology is not what I'm most interested in, otherwise I might've gotten bogged down in it too. It's all about crazy morphology for me. Not that that's any less of a mire

I'm not sure if I mentioned that I'm creating an Indo-Iranian conlang, so I must make the phonology before anything because I want my conlang to be realistic/natural.
Well, if you're making an a posteriori conlang, might it be better to apply sound changes and see how the phonology develops first rather than to begin by having a phonology set in stone?
Sound Changes are arguably more important for a posteriori than a priori since they determine the resulting phonology.

Alias(es): Zhan - [ʒɑn]; Nmmàli - [nm̩ 'mɑ li]. That's a syllabic m folks. I don't know if you can see the tick. I sure can't.
Location: the yoonaited states of əmurica
Date of birth: 2000
Interests: Phonoaesthetics. Just aesthetics in general. I'm not sure... Maybe I'd like to go to the gym nowadays. Who knows.
Favorite music: Baroque. Renaissance Motets too.
Political ideology etc.: right-ish. IDK I'll throw a few curveballs. I'm with the left on some things like environmental conservation. To me it's all transient in the end because of Christianity. Also, I support relief for the plight of the modern celtic languages and lean euroskeptic, like anybody in the EU cares what I think. I don't know, maybe their common defense initiatives are useful. Maybe I'm euroskeptic because it just seems... sketchy.
Conlangs: ðaujai. that is the romanization for /ðɑʊdʒɑi/. It's nascent I suppose. Kinda looks like some weird mix of European-ish features with bits of Japanese ambushing you from nowhere. It's for a world, but it also has personal functions.
Other hobbies: Reading history of course. Beating back
heathens fratnernity members on the way to class.
Where do you see yourself in ten years? Hopefully married with a relevant and rewarding job.
Operating Languages: Native Egnlisch. Obviously. Parlo italiano; lo studio ancora. J'ai passé deux années au lycée avec le français. 日本語はまだ始めているので . . . iie. Musicae meae omnes missae catholicae sunt. Minimas sententias igitur loqueri possum. I'd like to learn some German, some old Norse. Of course, I'd like to be fluent in dhaujai, so I guess I better start getting lemmas that are practical to my daily life.
