App to post on CBB from mobile
App to post on CBB from mobile
Does anybody of you know of an app to post on CBB from one's smartphone? Browsing the forum via browser is extremely annoying, considering that it is not at all optimized for mobile, thus the font is too small, you constantly need to zoom in and out,...

You're right in that it isn't at all ideal, but I browse from mobile all the time... I am right now.
If you find an app that meshes with the forum architecture well, please share. However, it seems to me that this is a case of "ya jus' hafta git use' ta it."

The main problem I have with browsing on my phone is with certain IPA elements, especially diacritics. I assume that can be dealt with with a font download or extension, but I don't know how that might affect typing.
Oh, and large images as well. Sometimes the spoiler tags don't hide the length of an image, so you end up having to scroll right to read text.

You can tell the same lie a thousand times,
But it never gets any more true,
So close your eyes once more and once more believe
That they all still believe in you.
Just one time.

Is it possible to use Tapatalk to read this forum on phone?

Tapatalk should work since the board is powered by phpBB 3. That being said, it could be an unsupported version for all I know.

Re: App to post on CBB from mobile
Im guessing that this thread was posted before the big makeover? I wasnt here then ... I came over after seeing a thread on the ZBB talking about the new CBB redesign, and when I clicked in out of curiosity, the first thing that came to my attention was how much more convenient it was than the old phpBB setup when browsing on my smartphone. That said, Im surprised phpBB still seems to lack the ability to distinguish between desktop and mobile browsers ... why not have one interface for mobile, and another for desktop? It is phpBB after all ... but Im not a programmer, so I could be missing something really obvious as to why mobile vs desktop cant just be integrated into the skin/theme system that already exists.
An app would be a good idea ... thanks, I've never tried Tapatalk, I might check it out and even use it for both ZBB and CBB if it works well.

I mean, you're not wrong but that is kind of a weird thing to say on a php forum.

She's a mod though, so she's probably worked personally with this forum's code; hence the hate.Frislander wrote: ↑02 Dec 2017 12:14I mean, you're not wrong but that is kind of a weird thing to say on a php forum.
