I hope you don't mind, but went ahead and made a font of your script:

Image

It's a real hack font, so MS Word's formatting doesn't understand or like the underlines of the prepositions at all, because it's actually mixing CJK and Latin ranges with zero-width characters, and normally Word likes to fiddle with the spacing of the CJK range and how it interacts with the Latin range. A less advanced word processor (e.g. notepad) won't bother to impose its own formatting and will display it properly.

Also I couldn't fully determine the meaning of ưǧo, so I had trouble deciding on an appropriate character to map it to.

If you like the font and would like a copy, just let me know (or if you dislike it and want me to get rid of it, let me know). Also, given the relatively simple design of the script, it's not especially difficult for me to add new characters if you design more.

Sure, I'll upload a copy when I have time. But first, can you let me know the meaning of ưǧo (the one that appears last in the big block of characters in my post) so that I can map it to an appropriate character?

Ah, a tricky one to find a CJK glyph for. Thanks, I'll do my best.

Apologies for the angle on this; I was at a restaurant, writing on the back of the disposable place setting, and I didn't want my shadow to cover the glyphs:

Image

Top row: śimo "friend", calau "grip", garưp "claw", mưś "impale"
Bottom row: omesơ "stick", co "cattle, cow", ača "snail", śimobatar "friendship"

Also, two I just thought up but have no glyphs for: maś "pit", ćưcư "red".

In addition to the glyphs themselves, I also really like the looks and sounds of the romanized words. ača "snail" is probably my favorite out of this newest "batch", aside from the ones specifically quoted above.

A new daughterlang based on Mexico City Spanish of the late 1800s (based largely on Marden, Charles Carroll (1896), "The Phonology of the Spanish Dialect of Mexico City". PMLA 11(1):85 – 150, and on my own [limited] knowledge of Spanish).

More on Mute Caber A

Base sound changes:

VS → Vˀ / _U
VN → V[+ one tone lower] / _U
V → ə / unstressed (sesquisyllabic)
F → [+ voiced] / V_V
S → [+ fricative] / V_V
ə → Ø / sesquisyllabic
Place assimilation of nasals
Regressive voicing assimilation
w → f / _C[- voice]
w → v / _C[+ voice]
a → ɔ / K_
ɨ → ə / N_
ɨ → i
s z → ts dz / N_
F → S[+ voice] / N_

So what we eventually end up with is a series of prenasalized stops as well.

Why are they called Mute? EDIT: Oops, I see you mentioned this. But what's the connotation, that they don't speak the proper language?

Also, any new characters?

Yes, that's basically it. The other Caber couldn't even recognize their language as Caber. The Mute Caber also were the westernmost of the Caber and came into contact with speakers of the Ban De languages. There was some mingling of the peoples and the other Caber didn't take too kindly to that. The language gap was just another perceived offense to the rest of the Caber. The Mutes got the last laugh though—the story goes that in the technological exchange with the Ban De speakers they ended up with the knowledge of advanced metalworking; in return the Ban De groups got the logogram system, which is now used to write in the easternmost Ban De languages.

Only a few so far—I haven't worked on the logograms much in the past couple of months, unfortunately.
