The Pogostick Language Game

Post by Inkcube-Revolver » 20 May 2017 04:18

Here are the rules:

A. Turn one word in the English language into another English word by means of plausible but fun phonological squeaks and tweaks.

E.g. pogo > pʰogə > psɤg > tsɨk > stɪk

2. Try to do the least amount of changes possible, anybody can participate and can judge the results when everyone's done.

d. Have fun and don't be dicks!

Also, you do not have to do changes according to another user's posts, you can see them as a guide or a means to navigate around sounds to find the quickest route to forming the goal-word.

Your challenge is:
Spoiler:
Turn a spoon into an edible cookie
and turn lead into gold
I like my languages how I like my women: grammatically complex with various moods and tenses, a thin line between nouns and verbs, and dozens upon dozens of possible conjugations for every single verb.

RP doesn't have /æ/-breaking or glottal stops, so ...

And you should probably suggest a next challenge when you've done one so the game doesn't stop.

RP pronounces butter, with a glottal stop instead of flapping or pronouncing plainly.
