I just sent my English translation of the Hawntow text to Click. I'm not sure how well/accurately I translated it, but oh well!
Thanks, I'll publish the results tomorrow.
It's been a long day.

Hi!

We completed the relay last week, but it's only now that I've gotten around to release the game results. Enjoy!

This is the initial text:
  • .
He had never been in that restaurant but he knew the value of its name. Walking swiftly by at night he had seen doormen in front of the door and richly dressed ladies, escorted by gentlemen, alight and enter quickly. They wore noisy dresses and many wraps.
He had always passed without turning his head to look. It was his habit to walk swiftly in the street even by day and whenever he found himself in the city late at night he hurried on his way apprehensively and excitedly. Sometimes, however, he courted the causes of his fear. He chose the darkest and narrowest streets and, as he walked boldly forward, the silence that was spread about his. footsteps troubled him, the wandering, silent figures troubled him; and at times a sound of low fugitive laughter made him tremble like a leaf.
Ring 1's final text was as follows:
  • .
I didn’t enjoy myself at the restaurant, which I thought was excessively expensive, and I thought carefully. That night, it was while I fled that I saw her: The woman wearing the expensive clothes. She was holding back a man. I quickly walked over in fear. Next, the wagon moved away towards the house. They held on using a ribbon of her clothing. I walked towards them as they watched and walked their path.
I would run even throughout the day, and I would run at night within the city, now in constant fear of the fiery path that is ice. Yes, I would happily go on careful runs shivering. I could not see the restaurant. I fearfully and carefully lived life on the dark path I had chosen.
I was angry at her, so I mumbled. She walked onwards from me during the night, so that I laughed and shivered. Only now have I learnt to walk onwards cautiously.
Ring 2's final text was as follows:
  • .
She doesn't have one, the woman who wants to have this name. Thus, she is walking, that woman who has observed. The home dresses itself, seeing these beautiful clothes!
Has the woman seen that it has stopped? The night often runs slowly, and thus the day often walks quickly to the road. Then, often proudly jumping, has the walk stopped? Then, I suppose, the leaves flow?
The individual torches are shown below.

He’d never been to that restaurant, but from the name it looked expensive.
As he jogged at night, he saw women in luxurious clothes, men on their arms; they got out of their cars and hurried anxiously inside, their fancy dresses adorned with ribbons. He always used to pass by so he could turn his head to look at them, jogging in the street even by day, but particularly late at night in the city. He would jog on, worried and excited along with them.
Now, though, he sometimes turns away, choosing to go down the darker narrower streets, going boldly forward. Then quiet scattered footsteps and silent wandering silhouettes trouble him. Sometimes he hears a quiet retreating laugh, and trembles like a leaf.

He has never patronized that restaurant, but he found its name to be very expensive.
While he jogged at night, he saw these women in luxurious clothes with men on their arms; they got out of their car and hurried in there worriedly, dresses completely adorned with ribbons. Earlier, he always passed them by so he could turn his head and look at them, while he jogged in the street even in the day (but particularly late at night in the city). He continued to jog, worried and excited just like them.
Now, however, he tends to turn away, to choose to head down those narrow and dark streets, and move on boldly. In that case, he is bothered by those quiet, scattered footsteps, and by those silent and wandering silhouettes. Sometimes, he now moves away with a quiet laugh and trembles like a leaf.

I have not accepted the offered services of the restaurant before, I think it was called too expensive.
I jogged mostly at night and now I saw dressed women in expensive clothes. They are arm in arm alongside their men. They hurried quickly and in distress out of their cars inside. Their clothes were covered with decorating ribbons. When I passed by them, they turned their head towards me, subsequently I looked along the big footpath outdoors now. Most of the time before, I was jogging at daytime, but commonly at night in the city. Anyway, I continued my jogging and was worried and excited at the same time.
But now, more often than not I did not turn towards the restaurant. I chose to head along the narrow, dark footpath outside. I kept on following the path bravely. I disturbed them, so they made scattered, quiet noises and their silhouettes wandered around aimlessly at night. I sometimes don’t follow the path now and laugh quietly and tremble like a leaf.

Because I think that the restaurant’s given help is too expensive to be called, I’ve never accepted it.
I would consistently run at nighttime, and while running, I saw women who wore expensive clothing. They closed their man’s arms. I quickly and anxiously moved, and they moved from their car to shelter. Their clothing had many ribbons. When I walk towards them, they looked me, so I walked down a trail. I routinely ran during the day, but in a city I routinely run at night. Nonetheless, I ran quickly and courageously down the trail while thrilled and worried, but I don’t always look at a restaurant. I chose to move down the small, dark trail. I courageously continue down the trail. Because they were disturbed by me, they left while whispering and their shadows moved around purposelessly at night. So, before laughing scaredly, I don’t always walk the trail.

Because I thought that the restaurant's generous, kind gifts, which I really liked, were too expensive, I didn't accept them from it. At night, I usually ran, and while I was running, I saw women wearing some very expensive clothing. They closed their man's arm. I moved quickly and somewhat nervously, and they walked from their car into a house. They held their clothing together with ribbons. As I walk towards it, it looks at me, so I am going to walk along the trail. Once, I usually ran during the day, but now I usually run in the city at night. Like the fast, courageous ice of fire, nervously and quite joyfully, I ran along the trail, but I didn't look at the restaurant. I chose to go along the small, dark trail. Courageously, I live along that trail. Because I was angry at them, while I was mumbling, they walked away from me for no reason, during their small nighttimes. Therefore, before a little bit of nervous laughter, I don't usually walk along the trail.

Although he wasn’t in the eating place, he would like to give it a name. He walked into the night and saw women who were covered too much as they were near men who came inside. Ribbons on their covers were too colorful and numerous.
He didn’t stop himself as he was seeing this. He walked on the road during the day and at night it would take long before he would rush about with excitement. He would one day face his fears and walk the dark street but their feet would stomp too much and he would stop and laugh awkwardly. He was like a leaf on the wind.

I'm not surprised, but it's cool that the two rings are so different. I really like the fiery path of ice. I'd be excited for the next one of these, whenever that may be. If it's not too soon, I might have a different conlang ready.

loglorn, I think the wagon was a car originally. The car maybe came from Boral?

I think the wagon's my fault. I translated one of the words in the text I got as "car", but since the speakers of the language I was using wouldn't have had automobiles, I just used the word for wagon, and listed it as "wagon, car, automobile" in my glossary.

Yeah, and I think the car is my fault: the original text has "they alighted" and I interpreted that to mean "they got out of their cars" (although I suppose it could equally well have been "they dismounted from their horses" [:D] )

Ring 2 is a paragon of concision. It has about the same number of sentences as the original (maybe even the same number; the original's punctuation gets dodgy toward the end), but has fewer than half the words. Cut the fat! Kill your darlings!

The fiery path that is ice! Ah, but do the leaves flow?

It's interesting how not turning to look became turning away (from something), and then that something was interpreted as the restaurant, and so we got "I could not see the restaurant" where it had only been mentioned once in the original text.

Thanks for running this, Click! This turned out quite excellent.

For those wondering where the heck the fire and ice came into play in ring one, as well as those who aren't but to whom i will tell this anyways, I am the culprit behind it. In Atruozan, "Nonetheless" is "of ƀeoköltmoþo nölcërlëlđdø̃møþe" in Atruozan, an idiom glossing as "SEM fire(AN)-ESS.ANZ-ADJZ(IN)-ADVZ freeze-NMZ(IN)-ESS.INZ-CNS.INZ-ADJZ(IN)-ADVZ", where "freeze-NMZ" is really "ice-NMZ.Creation/destruction_class", which translates literally to "in a manner like/similar to fire's freezing/the freezing of fire". It ended up translated literally and then somehow became the fiery path that is ice which is great.

I like how Ring 1 shifted from a third-person narrative to first person, while Ring 2 eliminated the man completely and a woman becomes the focus.

I’m really curious about the ‘ice and fire’ that appears out of nowhere in shimobaatar’s text. I’m tempted to assume that the Atruozan word for ‘nonetheless’ is somehow responsible, as I can’t see any other component of that sentence that’s unaccounted for. That sentence was also the one part of the Alál text that left me utterly mystified when translating the final text.

I’d also like to echo others and say thanks to Click for organising this.
Edit: Ninja’d by Dzeta! It seems I guessed right.

Yeah, I was almost certain it wasn't meant to be taken literally, but I had no idea what the meaning was supposed to be, so I just did my best to translate it literally.

I love seeing how messed up the texts get. It seems like quite a few things can be traced back to me, though, so… whoops! Hopefully I'm not the only one who likes seeing things get messed up (I sincerely doubt I am).

It looks like I must have really messed up Hawntow > English, which doesn't surprise me. I ended up sending my translation in without asking Znex for any clarification because I saw how anxious people were to see the results.

And of course, as others have said, many thanks to Click! This wasn't easy to schedule!

The second mention of the restaurant was introduced by me. But in the text I received from J Reggie, the Mýr word for restaurant (bongúpà) indeed appeared twice.

But oh lord, my translation was the worst I ever performed in a relay! It appears that all roles in the text were completely switched after I was done with it. The introduction of the personal view is still somewhat explicable because J Reggie stated that it could be first person or 3rd person, but the proximate and obviative 3rd persons were completely messed up by me.

What does Google Translate think your relay torch was? (Ring 2 version, because I was in it)
Click; Tanxhek = Slovak
Dormouse559; Silvish = Corsican
Frislander; Asta = Azerbaijani
gestaltist; Nakarian = Yoruba
Creyeditor; Tri3 = Catalan
this_is_an_account; K'otê = Vietnamese
Reyzadren; griuskant = Bengali
Davush; Qutrussan = Albanian
Corphishy; Vuase = Hindi
Znex; Hawntow = Chichewa
Using Google Translate on the original text then cycling through those natlangs in that order:
Spoiler:
He does not go to his own business, but he knows his name. In the evening, he worked, wealthy women, very satisfied with our customers and quickly entered. The Lakshmi bag is decorated with many rewards.
Anything unlimited. Even while walking on the street and staying in the city, they hit the cord and climb. At times he said almost all his fears, he said almost all his fears. He chose a difficult and difficult way and walked in peace. Your directions are regulated using the name; Sometimes you feel smell like a bright paper.
In the previous relay, I was assigned to Hindi, and this time, it's Bengali. Fine, Google, I get it, my conlang has some essences of Bengali, yep.

I'll do the google translate torch for ring 1.

Click: Tanxhek = Slovak
Jack: Boral = Catalan
J Reggie: Mýr = Yoruba
Iyionaku: Yélian = Corsican
DzêtaRedfang: Atruozan = Vietnamese
shimobaatar: Y²KS = Croatian
k1234567890y: Plattdytch = Frisian (and that actually yields a valid translation)
loglorn: Proto-Mwamban = Maltese
Kiwikami: Alál = Yoruba
Back to English
That yields the following text:

He did not go to the diets, but I knew its value. She hurried and rushed to the door, and the kids were tired, with her master, and she left. It is safe and colorful.
Wipe the glass. This is the usual way to start, even in the days, day and night, only a happy one. But he said a second round of his reasons for fear. He chose the way of the resources and at least, and he healed, quietly reported. Your steps are inadvertently and your local views are good; and keep the contents of the continuous air as a letter.
Wipe the glass. This is the usual way to start, even in the days, day and night, only a happy one.

NOPE [:P]. For what it's worth though, I had to get some form of fun change in there, and the Atruozan idioms are a great way to do that. Also, listen. The torch I sent was 15 pages long, okay? 15 pages of word document in Times New Roman font size 12, which is pretty much the minimum required in order to let the next guy be able to properly decipher most of what is going on. I think at that point I have the right to not give what every single idiom means.

To be fair, they're really easy mistakes to make if you're just going quickly off my notes. The Hawntow involved some amount of reference switching, unmarked local adverbs (à la Chinese time adverbs), affect marking (which really just mark the speaker's opinion, eg. "This was a really wholesome thing that happened", vs. "This was really bizarre, let me tell you"), and then there was the "subjunctive" prefix which functioned more as an irrealis-equative marker here rather than the prototypical subjunctive.

Plus it didn't help that when it came to my translation, the identity of the first character had completely disappeared, and with the premise of there being a cafe. I translated rather conservatively there.
