And they don't really look natural. One would expect for instance that the plate borders would pass right in the middle of those islands "inside" the rightmost continent. I am not a thorough expert, but that got my attention. You should talk to qwed117 and/or smappy. They did the tectonics for Teles and have the appropriate knowledge to help you out.

God dammit. I cannot do these plates right. I also do not know regarding "in the middle of those islands" whether you mean physically in the middle of each of them or simply between them.

I'm sorry I've been gone for so long. After being awa for a few weeks, I really want to return to work on Sunbyaku. I have already sketched out some new grammar and sometime in the coming week I will FINALLY lay out all the verb classes. Sunbyaku has way, way more verb subclasses than Japanese and things need to be sorted out. The main sticking point are the Externals. They are simple on paper--being the equivalent to Japanese's ichidan verbs, but they have some differences and getting those in order is hard. I want them to work on the "row" system that governs both Sunbyaku's Internals and Japanese's godan verbs, but express their "rows" (in Sunbyaku, yame "bridge") in a different way.

But, on the good side, I realized that I can possibly use the Odd Internals in an interesting way to do what I want to do with the Externals, which'll allow me to free up the Externals a little.

You frequently talk about externals and internals, but can you define, briefly, what they are?

Internals are Sunbyaku's godan verbs, basically:

kasasu: "she carries"
kasezuro: "she doesn't carry"
kasura: "carrying" (equivalent to Japanese's -te form)
kasora!: "carry!
kashikosu: "perhaps she is carrying"

Externals are ichidan verbs, that do not possess the "rows" (In Sunbyaku, yame "bridge(s)") of goda/Externals, instead either directly suffixing suffixes or using other suffixes in between the root and other morphemes:

nizusu: "she sees"
nizurezu: "she does not see"
nizura: "seeing"
nizukora!: "see!" (often just nizuka!)
nizuyosu: "perhaps she sees"

The main difference between the two languages is that I want to mix in PIE's characterized presents into Sunbyaku for (some of) the Externals, but in a reverse direction: the present is unmarked, but the past requires a suffix added on to the root, inspired somewhat from the i~ku~ka variation in Japanese's i-adjectives (yes I know that's actually just sound change), but making it work is really hard. Nothing comes out well.

Also, the person endings have yame as well (obviously nothing like this exists in Japanese), that's why you see the 3S marker switching from su~zu~zuro; for instance, "did she carry" is kasazurai. I'm thinking of using this more extensively in the Externals since they don't have yame obviously (instead they have 4 stems: present, past, irrealis, and connecting, meaning they have four principal parts like Latin or Greek).

Many things!

My lexicon is now at a grand total of 78 words.

I have modified my phonology:
Old:
/ t d c ɟ k ɡ / < t d c j k g >
/ n ~ ɲ ~ ŋ / < n >
/ θ ð ʃ ʒ x ɣ / < ̄t ̄d ̄c ̄j ̄k ̄g >
/ ɹ j / < r y >
/ æ ɛ ɪ i ɒ u / < a e i ı o u >
New:
/ t d c ɟ k ɡ / < t d c j k g >
/ n ~ ɲ ~ ŋ / < n >
/ θ ð ʃ ʒ x ɣ / < ̄t ̄d ̄c ̄j ̄k ̄g >
/ ɾ j / < r y >
/ ɑ ɛ ɜ ɪ i o u / < a e ë i ı o u >

I have added the possibility of plosives to appear at the end of word final syllables where it used to be strictly nasal+fricative (both optional).

And I have also realised I'll need to modify my writing system for the new and changed sounds to make sense with the symbol (featural system).

For the first time since forever, I've had a new idea for the World of Twin Suns. Keyword: taoist Aztecs. Imagine a martial arts culture practicing "inner style" martial arts, honing their inner energy, which they call ŋ̩t͜ɬa, who also believe you can absorb the energy of another human in the moment of his death. This leads to all sorts of customs, from human sacrifice, to rituals on the battle field after slaying a foe, to voluntary self-sacrifice of older members of society. They also use the name of the energy for active meditation, where they hold a form while chanting "nggggg" like a mantra, and they finish the form with an explosive move, accompanied by shouting "tla!" (the second part of their term for the energy). Basically something like a combination of hinduist meditation and a kata.

Let's see where this goes.

After so long I think I have actually something nice for the Odd Internals of Sunbyaku. Using the o-stems:

*sakoyarī > sakōrī "to (willingly) make noise, rejoice"
*sakoyata > sakotta "you make noise"
*sakoyeturo > sakoretsuro "you do not make noise"
*sakoyura > sakōra "making noise"
*sakoyoto > sakoroto! "do not make noise!"
*sakoyisiu > sakocchisou "might (you) have made a noise?"

The only problem is that this isn't exactly too distinctive compared to the normal paradigm.

A transcription exercise: “Pastime with Good Company” in (more or less) Henry VIII's Original Pronunciation.
Link expires in a week.

Why? Because all renditions I listened to were modern-speech rubbish.
