[tick] [cross]
/k/ but not <c> [:D] (this cluster is written with a single grapheme).

Was the verb a form of either vēxō or vehō?

Hint : the verb is in the perfect.

Hmm… maybe I'm misinterpreting something from the last page. Just to be sure, is the cluster in Classical Latin /ks/ only?

my best guess would be that it's from vngo (vnxi) or sth, and that Jackk considers /w/ <v> and /u/ <u> the same at least as far as Latin is concerned

I'm going to tentatively guess it's from a form of vīvō. I don't think I recall the <v/u> distinction presenting a problem in this thread in the past, although I could be wrong.

lmao, for some reason I thought that vivo was viviverunt. Makes sense it's vixerunt though. So it's "a happy lived one", so it seems like some funeral toast, like "a life well lived"

[tick] [tick] Correct! from *vixerunt indeed, with the <oi> by analogy with verbs like *valuerunt.

"a happy-lived-il" yeah. A toast is a good guess but not quite. Clue: the "happy-lived-il" is a noun derived from the full sentence "Allagr vescoirn il."

But I live alone, and their “value” sizes are just too big for me!
I’d like to find some “value runt” items there, but that’s just not their thing.

I'm assuming there's more left to figure out than that, though. I must admit I'm rather stumped, but I'll try reading back over the last few pages of the thread to see if anything jumps out at me.

An allagr-vescoirn-il is indeed a happy-ever-after!

Oh, that's nice!

Just wanted to say I haven't forgotten about this. I just finished moving, so now I'll have more time to think of a suitable word or phrase.
