A rigid something-aticum?
[tick]

rígido is indeed equivalent to English "rigid". You're on the right track in terms of meaning, I'd say, but I do want to note that "rigid" isn't the exact word used in the English translation.
Does pagesazgo descend from a single word in Classical Latin?

Are we talking more like the original "peasantry" or the modern "nation"?

I'd say closer to "peasantry".

Hmmmm
"rigid folk" [B)]

is the adjective something concrete like "stiff", "rigid" or "firm"?

I should note that, while it is definitely closer to "peasantry" than "nation", it's not a person or a group of people.

Hmm… the meaning is definitely along those lines, but here it's not being used to refer to the physical quality or feeling of something, if that makes sense?

That's very far off.

I think I should clarify what I've said about the adjective. It's not as abstract as "absolute"; I might look at something and describe it as this. However, unlike "stiff", "rigid", or "firm", I don't think I'd use this adjective to describe the physical feeling of something after touching it.

It's been established that pagesazgo is related to Latin pāgēnsis, whereas Wiktionary says that this Albanian word is from baptizō.

Feels almost like describing a caste system- like a rigid caste system?
