What can I say? It doesn't fit above, put it here. Also the location of board rules/info.

Some of you may have noticed that I’m working on a new conlang called Núta. I like the name, but there’s this upstart side of my mind, quasi-masochistic, that fancies changing the name to Snúta.

Snúta - the snootiest language...

^ I actually like "snuta" better. It sounds Lihmelinyan-like almost. Lots of words with /sn/ and /sm/ in my language. Maybe because Lihmelinyans are kind of smarmy. [;)]

Well Harry Potter is such an integral part of my childhood i can't even really imagine what it is not to like it.

Somewhat late to the fray, but according to Pottermore i am of Slytherin, carry a 12" Hazel wand with Unicorn hair core and unyielding flexibility. And my patronus is a... Vole.
Diachronic Conlanging is the path to happiness, given time. [;)]

I'd even suggest Þnúta/Θnúta (could be an allophonic change?), but I like Snúta too. Go for it! [:)]

(Maybe hNúta/Hnúta/Nhúta?)

Lol. I’ve toyed with adding /θ/ because, you know, Tuscarora!!! However, I think I’ll be a good boy and stick to the ‘clean’ look I’ve got going (or think I’ve got going). But you do read my thoughts; this morning I was thinking that I am going to permit word-initial hn hr hw hy!

Núta is coming...

...which if what I've read is correct is pretty damn standard and middle of the road; Slytherin is the most common house to be sorted to, while unicorn hair is the most common wand core I think.
And my patronus is a... Vole.
Honestly I think I'd prefer a vole to an Aardvark, at least it's an animal that's actually native to my home country.

Yes! Word initial /h/ or /x/, do it! Now that's sounding even more like my conlang... :)

Yes, because I'm going to start one in a minute. How can it be that it's not there yet?!

Glad to see you took matters into your own hands whilst I had my nighttime repose.

Not sure what lang to participate with though. I don’t know enough about Núta yet to form words, but there are plenty of other Esseintial langs in dire need of vocabulary.

I might give participating in Lexember another shot this year. I'd want to use an a priori language, personally, but the only one I've been even remotely satisfied with in a while is Wäjāpu, and that's barely developed. Still, I might use it. I guess we'll see what happens over the next three and a half hours or so before midnight.

I had the idea of indicating plurality through gemination of the first consonant:

m̃ók [ŋ͡mɔ́k] / (ā) m̃m̃ók [(aː) ŋ͡mɡ͡bɔ́k]
ki̋amù [kíː.a.mù] / (ā) kki̋amù [(aː) kːíː.a.mù]
ṭzíkg [t͡sˤík͡x] / (ā) ṭṭzíkg [(aː) t͡ːsˤík͡x]

Hmm, there’s an idea. What should the first word be?

Do you already have a word for "word"?

I just noticed that my "s" key doen't seem to be working all the time anymore. First the "z" key and now the "s" key? I guess I'll need a new keyboard. I already noticed in some post I've written on here that there are some letters missing. So if it looks like I don't know how to form plurals or conjugate verb in English, I'm sorry! It's just my keyboard [:$] [:D]

Somehow I got unsubscribed from the Lexember thread. Has anyone encountered any similar problems?
